Honestly the price alone just locked so many people out of this product.

It's such a premium price for a casual use. It doesn't mix.

The worst thing Apple could do is to stop producing new content before their next Vision product is released. They have to keep the new and existing users raving about the content or nobody will be thinking forward to next one.

Someone needs to talk more about the professional uses. I’m a mechanical engineering student, and using mine to see assembled CAD projects and products before printing or submitting has been amazing.

VR enthusiast here. There is a lot of distracting glare in the vision pro. There just is. If someone says there isn't any, they're lying. You can mitigate it somewhat but it ruins the viewing experience. There's literally no Apple Immersive content. You can watch it all in a single afternoon, the entire catalog. It's pretty bait and switchey in my opinion to release a $3500 product and 6 months later there's still nothing.

“It’s a great product, you just need to use eye drops after most uses” is not a great sales pitch.

I mostly use mine for 3D movies, the new music videos, concerts and other immersive experiences are cool but they need more of it for mainstream events. Had they done the Olympics that would’ve been really cool

My cousin bought one of these for my dad's 50th bday. The thing is we live outside of US and it turns out u can barely use it cuz of regional limitations. Now we got a "Dust Collector V3500" lol

Visionos2 has fixed about 90% of the issues I had with the first OS. I’m actually thoroughly impressed how tweaking a few things has completely changed my view of the headset.

I am a tech consultant and have been working with various professionals. For instance, one of my interior designer clients is planning to incorporate the Vision Pro into his daily work. My client uses the Vision Pro to review 3D assets of furniture and decor items, as well as for virtual staging. These workflows are not as practical on a MacBook or even the iPad Pro.

The most difficult thing about Vision Pro is the cost. A Quest 3 can do 95% of what the Vision Pro can do for 1/7 the cost AND the Quest 3 still has a very nice screen AND viable 3rd party accessories. Also, as good as the integration of working off a macbook is, the app "Immersive" is a far better implementation.

Obviously the OLED screens are far better but how does that actually affect the experience compared to a Quest 3?

The Airpods Pro are really nice when watching a movie off the Apple Tv using spatial audio and head tracking. I'll give you that. But it's no match to a real speaker system that's setup properly. Just as a large projection screen feels tremendously better than watching a movie in VR.

I think your intro is how most people feel about the product. It's novelty, and little else. I don't want something strapped to my head all day, thank you very much. Phones are dystopian enough.

I agree that $1500 is the perfect price! I want one, but not for the current price it’s at. It just isn’t worth it and like you said, “over-engineered”

Well, as a quest 3 user I really hope vision pro takes off and doesn't flop. What it means for the vr industry in general will be great. It is only going to keep meta on their toes and better iteration of next gen. Honestly I feel like we are only about 1 or 2 generations away from meta quest crossing that threshold where screen clarity is going to be more than adequate for it to be genuinely a productivity device. Throwing apple into the mix will only make it better.

The problem is the astronomical price, especially competing with the Meta Quest 2 and 3

I wear a VR headset 2-3 hours almost every day (sim racing mostly).
I am also a mac/ipad/iphone/apple watch user for work and everything ... but gaming.

At this price: no. With this design: no. Without games (I would play) on mac: no.
Too heavy/big for AR. No real apps for me to warrant this for VR.
I just cannot find one single thing I would/could do with this to be honest.

Yes, I agree, if it had a PC compatibility for actual serious games (sim racing, sim flying, etc), and it was 1/3rd the price I would consider it with an aftermarket head-strap. Like this, I would play with it for a week and it would go on the shelf me looking at my 2 32'' Asus monitors attached to my Mac Studio .... and the Quest 3 on the PC ...
