This is very important not to look at friends/family and their relationships and think that this is the only type of relationship you can have. You can have anything you want, even if you've never seen that type of relationship in your life. In an ideal world, your partner is gonna be perfectly suited to you and vice versa, but for that to happen you have to create your own blueprint. Or else they'll be perfectly suited to what society thinks you should want or what your parents want for you or what your friends will admire the most.

"Perfectly suited to you" doesn't mean that you'll never fight because I've learnt that never fighting is even worse. To continuously evolve in a relationship there has to be differences of opinion and sometimes you're wrong and sometimes they're wrong. The willingness to evolve from each disagreement is what makes the relationship stronger or else you end up stagnating in that relationship.

"Relationships are catalysts for transformation" Yes! I have transformed into someone who doesn't want a relationship. You might say well, don't you get lonely? And I would say, I was lonely when I was married. You might say, but don't you want to be with someone you can share a beautiful dinner with, or a beautiful sunset? And I would say, they are just as beautiful without someone else, and why would I give up all my freedom to do exactly as I choose for 99% of my life just to share the remaining 1% occasional sunset or meal with someone when I am perfectly capable of enjoying them by myself? Happiness and fulfillment are an inside job:)

My list said he must be loyal and tall and he must be respectful and I didn't know what else to put on the list 😂 Everyone was like "Oh Diya you're smart so you need a smart man, " which just annoyed me and also my type was never the very smart guys. I'm a lawyer it's not that hard to do, we just overcharge significantly. But bf is very smart like he's a software engineer and has another degree in biomedicine and his Masters in prosthetics. I also wasn't looking for a rich guy coz I knew that how he treats me was way more important than how much money he had. But bf ended up being well off and just getting me lots of gifts and he even offered to make me my own private art studio in his apartment, which is amazing and maybe next year we can do that. For now he's just funding my art so I have nowhere to put any more canvases and no wall space 🖌🎨
