You have to read 'why fish don't exist' by lulu miller, very unique in its subject matter and also how many things it manages to talk about, does defy genre within non fiction, one of my favourite reads this year!

So excited for this video! My big goal for last year was to read atleast 1 nonfiction a month and I accomplished that but have been seriously slacking this year. Excited for these recs to get me back into nonfiction 💘

Ahhh, another absolute banger from you. I seriously have not experienced so much joy and anticipation from a Youtube channel... perhaps ever! I have hardly read any nonfiction aside from Truman Capote's In Cold Blood, which I completely loved. Your book tastes truly inspire me with new literature possibilities I had not considered before. I am also getting more and more interested in possibly picking up a Krakauer... the unfortunate side of my personality is that I tend to stick to singular "types" of book because I am more comfortable in picking one subject and becoming incredibly knowledgeable in that subject in particular... but the things that you share truly do prompt me to expand my search.

Thank you for doing a video about nonfiction! I feel like it’s an underrated book genre. My favourite nonfiction book is “The Matryoshka Memoirs” by Sasha Colby. Thank you for this video, you’ve earned a new sub 😊

I finished reading Liz Phair's Horror Stories today. I didn't actively listen to her music in the 90s, but I really enjoyed her memoir. My favorite chapters are seven and eleven, where she talks about the NYC blackout of 2003 and the huge blizzard of 2010.

One nonfiction book I will never forget and that jolted me into adulthood is "The Autobiography of Malcolm X". I can say it truly changed my life. Thanks for the rundown, I've read a number of the books you mentioned.

Please read Jeannette walls!! She is my favorite author maybe. (She lives in NY!!) Lol but read the Glass Castle (her memoir) and Half Broke Horses (memoir about her grandmother, lily). I love the grit and determination in those books. I still think about the beautiful scenes that play out in half broke horses on their farm, a must read!!

Another fantastic and entertaining video! Thanks Ana. I have three recommendations for you, based on your taste for certain books.
1-The Unlikely Thru -Hiker: An Appalachian Trail Journey by Derek Lugo
2- The Climb by Anatolia Bookreev (it's a different take on the 1996 Everest disaster)
3-The Boys in the Boat, by Daniel James Brown (love, love, love this).
Think Olympics, Germany, Hitler, the Depression, competition, and a bunch of college boys that come through for the USA!

I’m so glad for that one person who suggested this video, I didn’t know I wanted it but I did 🔥 ...I know Woolgathering was in number 60 but I can’t ignore that title+cover combo lol, I’m for sure googling that one. But I also need to read Just Kids.
(You were so calm about that centipede! I would’ve run away screaming 😂😭)

This video was fun, smart and informative. I discovered some interesting books. Krakauer's books are amazing. Thanks for the shout out to us old people. We used to be you and you will be us. For non-fiction adventure the best read has got to be Endurance by Lansing. This survival story is so mind blowing it is almost unbelievable, but it is true.
Also, Man's Search for Meaning by Frankl about a concentration camp or Educated by Westover about leaving the Mormon life. Both very good. Thanks for the non- fiction ideas.
