This DiMarzio blew my mind! Punch, definition, bright and massive

Very very similar. The Dimarzio edged it for me. Plus I like the idea of the adjustable pole pieces on the Dimarzio. That could help balance string volume differences. I’ve ordered a set based on this video so thank you for the effort and time putting it together. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I cannot believe that I am actually hearing an actual difference between those two. There is something in the Dimarzio and don't know how to describe it in words that is making me prefer that one. The Semour Duncan is not bad by any means either. I just bought a Precision Bass and am really thinking about upgrading it with that Dimarzio one.

DM Model P hands down. All my P Basses have them and they never disappoint.

Ultimately it comes down to taste. I use Dimarzios in a lot of my basses. Much more air, power, and middle. (my taste). Thanks for the good comparison.

Great video! These were the only two pups i would have considered, and I’ve got my mind made up now that the dimarzios are staying. Very nice sound!!

Dimarzio! Punchier, beeffier, growlier, with more body.

Nice comparison. The DiMarzios to me sounded more punchier.

Aye thanks for the great vid, after watching you're dimarzio comparison vid i couldn't choose a pickup so I got both and routered out a second pickup cavity in my bass making it a double p bass, model p in mid and split p at bridge. Was curious about SPB-3 compared to model 3 but this video definitely convinced me dimarzio was the right choice

I played heavy distorted guitar over these parts and I feel the SPB-3 works better for melding with the guitar to create a huge yet tight sound.

Subbed! Can’t wait for the Model P vs SPB-4 Steve Harris comparison. Been choosing between those two, i’ll mostly play modern metal on a Fender Deluxe PJ.

I like the brightness of the SPB-3 a lot, but I love the tight, more rounded, and punchy mid-range tone of the Model P!

Your pickup comparison videos are like the gold standard for sound comparisons. I wish everyone did it this way.

Also, BLOOD \M/

The Di Marzio seems to be more mid-punchy and a bit more powerful, but I love the growly highs on Spb3 that seems to be a little more dinamic...up the Irons!🤘😁

I've been using the Model P's (and J's) for years and love them. But those Duncans sound nice, too. (But not enough to switch.)

Truth be told,
After 45+ years on the bass (and guitar) I’ve really stepped away from high end PU’s in both.
I’ve discovered that taking some of the cheapest stockers,
Potting them, and experimenting with magnets (neodymium rare earth mostly)
Produce fantastic and customizable results.
And you do not have to be a luthier to do it, even though I became one just because I don’t like ANYTHING the way it comes.🙃

Great video. No bs, right to the point.
Quarterpounders sound more bassy and scooped.
Dimarzio have more sting to them, they remind me of emg.
I like both.

To my ear, the DiMarzio sounds better. Are you planning on picking up an EMG GZR pickup at some point? Would love to hear a comparison between it and the model p, and between it and the Steve Harris spb4.

Thanks for the great videos and performances!! The earliest stamped pickups have a different and wonderful sound.
