In this video, we explore the unique upgrades Ukraine's F-16s have received, setting them apart from standard models and offering key advantages against Russian threats. After a lengthy diplomatic push, Ukraine now has F-16s from allies like Norway and Denmark. These jets aren’t typical; they feature advanced pylons and state-of-the-art countermeasures, such as Terma’s pods and Hensoldt's AN/AAR-60 systems, enhancing their defense against missile threats. We’ll dive into these specialized systems, the geopolitical hurdles, and what makes these F-16s formidable tools for Ukraine's air force.

The reason the Ukrainian F16s are unusual, is because Denmark donated their unusual Danish F16s. Ukraine is simply using what they’ve been given. Thankfully this extra kit will help keep them safer!

Electronic systems that can "learn as it goes" is definitely an advantage for any fighter aircraft.

This last part on the collaboration between Ukraine and NATO is the most valuable part of helping Ukraine. Outside of the obvious fact that its just the right thing to do. The absolute amount of information these allies can gather about Russia's weapons and processes are vital in further discouraging military adventurism by a clearly aggressive Russia.

While the airframe of the F-16 is showing its age, it systems have been updated again and again. The only disadvantage is that it isn't stealth, apart from that it still is a very potent weapon system. Because the main weapon of the F-16 isn't its air frame, but what is hanging from those pylons.

I think they're long overdue, and would have proven game-changing had they been delivered a year ago. Still hope it works out

All very good but western governments need to let Ukraine off the leash and lift restrictions on using long range weapons inside Russia or help them build more of their own.
They also need more of everything.

Russia has no restrictions when destroying hospitals and apartments in Ukraine so there seems to be no reason to restrict Ukraine in any way as they heroically defend their country.

Ukraine was the backbone of Russia ' s military and technology knowledge. Who knows Russia 's capabilities better.?

Correction: The labeling of flare dispenser at 11:30 is inaccurate. What is being referred to as flare dispenser are actually the sensors. The flare dispensers are actually the squares that have a grid like structure, as clearly seen visible at 9:58 and 10:56. This is in-line with the built-in dispensers on the underside of fuselage, between the wing and elevator. Nevertheless, very informative video and I did get to learn a lot, especially about the pylons that ex-Danish vipers use.

Correction: The F-16's airframe is OLDER than the Mig-29's. The F-16 flew 3 years before the Mig-29 and entered service 5 years before the Mig-29.

Yes, the Mig-29 is obsolete, while upgraded models of the F-16 are still quite potent opponents.

Finland is ready to defend its own country to the end! As for Ukraine, Finland will support Ukraine as long as there is a need and Finland's own resources will last!

For the countermeasure against anti-air, the chaff with aluminum-coated glass fibers, you should add a boule of opposite charge to either end so the surfaced of the fiber is polarized by wind resistance.

I’m friends with a retired USAF Lt. Colonel with around 1000 hours in the F-16 who says “there is no better fighter in the phone booth (close aerial dogfighting) than the F-16

I thank the editors who produced this very technical report about the history and evolution of the F-16 fighter Jets. They are either experts themselves or consulted various experts to put all this information together. However it happened you produced a very impressive video about this fighter Jet. The Narrator also had a lot of information to learn and deliver it all with various photo clips to support his lengthy delivery, well done.

It's a perfect scenario to test the latest jammers and EW pods.

From what I'm gathering here is that in addition to the upgrades, the new weapons electronic layout is also an intelligence gathering system that relays what ol Ivan is up to when it comes to targeting systems.

It then is relayed in almost real time to the AF EW spooks so they can get to work almost immediately with counter measuring devices/systems.

Thanks, Military Show. I think they're great.

Still think the Grippen would be the ideal but that's impractical due to production capacity (in the longer term however the Grippen might be the best option for Ukraine)

As a I.S. Navy retiree I was, and still am, unhappy that the U.S. & her allies to so long in providing Ukraine with military equipment. Had they done so early on it is very plausible this war could have already ended in Ukraine’s favor. I understand the need to be cautious but their inaction has been costly.
