I've had these for a couple months now in Toronto, I can tell you this is a game changer. It's not meant to be a smart watch, it's not meant to be a camera, it's not meant to be a headphone. It's designed to be a GREAT pair of everyday wear glasses with some incredible added benefits of heads up information and non-intrusive notification. Less is more here because I've rocked the rayban meta everyday for 4 months and I can definitely say these design decisions to omit camera, omit audio significantly reduced the weight on the G1 and I wholeheartedly feel these were the right decisions because I can wear these all day and forget about it. Not to mention the significant increase in battery life against the rayban meta which legit lasts a couple of hours per charge. Also I do not want cameras on my glasses, I do not want people asking me if I'm recording them, it is a pain to explain to them every time that they aren't being recorded. Even realities with their first Gen product hit a home run here (at least for me, and I think for you too, if you stop comparing with other glasses and appreciate it for what it is).

this is a lot closer to the AR future than Meta or Apple have managed so far. There’s a version of this that much more closely connected with the phone or even becoming the phone that’s going to be amazing. these guys got a lot of things right here

Actually the biggest pain point for some of us is that we need expensive prescription lenses that can't be replaced with contacts. About 68% of Americans need glasses and while many can wear contacts, it's hardly a rare thing.

Language has a proper delay
You need to buy language credits to use it
Tilting your head up by mistake constantly makes the green overlay appear - maxing the head tilt feature to make it more intentional is a neck pain lol
Directions are ok

The translation feature is a game changer for travelers. It feels so dopey to hold your phone out and keep going back and forth to it. With this you could understand whatever is being said around you without standing out too much.

These AR glasses are the right path. No cameras = most of the world do not have problem with it and as lightweight normal looking as possible. Insane change of life for the deaf person. Helps to move away from constantly checking phone like smart watches do. Being able to talk to others is also insane, ofc it requires that both users have the glasses but for travelling and for immigrates learning when they move to new country, this is simply insane.

It's been long time since I've seriously wanted piece of technology that is not must to have, but as a half deaf ADHD brain I can see way too many benefits even for me when it comes to these glasses, just needs to have prescription lenses that can be swapped later by user or eye doctor.
