I remember doing something like this similar to a nokia (yes a nokia with buttons but it's a 2018 model) so I can listen to the radio without bothering to wear headphones for signal and it worked like magic.

I have no knowledge about this but i guess the used of plugging the antenna to the headset port is just to get enough current to activate its purpose but this does not mean that it can help boost the signal permanently because it has a potential that can cause short circuit to headset port if prolong insert to your phone.

Your are either to young or to old. The tx power is the limit because of emc compliant products. A better antenna will in best case give better reception but will not amplify the emitionss

😂there are no connection between ear phone jack and wifi
