What’s happening in this Breaking Bad clip?
Walt (Bryan Cranston from Godzilla and Total Recall) gives the gun to Jesse (Aaron Paul) and asks Jesse to kill him. Jesse notices Walt has been mortally wounded from the shootout and refuses, telling Walt that if he wants to die he can do it himself. As Jesse and Walt leave Jack's hideout, Walt answers Todd's phone and speaks with an obviously ill Lydia. He informs her that Jack and his gang are all dead, that he planted ricin in her stevia during the meeting at the coffee shop, and that she will soon be dead. Jesse and Walt exchange a farewell glance before Jesse flees in Todd's car.

What’s the TV show Breaking Bad about?
Walter White (Bryan Cranston from Godzilla and Total Recall), a chemistry teacher, is diagnosed with lung cancer. He decides to make and sell methamphetamine to repay his medical debts and secure his family’s future.

Season 5 of Breaking Bad:
With Gustavo (Giancarlo Esposito) dead, Walter (Bryan Cranston from Godzilla and Total Recall) and Jesse (Aaron Paul) decide to start their own drug empire. They team up with Mike (Jonathan Banks), Gus' former henchman. They also team up with Lydia (Laura Fraiser) and Todd (Jesse Plemons).
Hank (Dean Norris), now head of the DEA, gets involved in the Gus Fring case and tightens his grip on Mike, who will be forced to leave the operation. Jesse quickly does the same. Walter helps Mike to organize his escape but mortally wounds him in a fit of rage. Later, he makes Todd his new assistant.
Thereafter, Walter knows an uninterrupted success and accumulates enormous amounts of money. One day, Skyler (Anna Gunn) shows him the impressive pile of money, explaining that she can no longer launder it and begging him to stop. Soon after, Walter decides to leave the business for good.
Everything seems to be back to normal when Hank discovers that Walter is Heisenberg. Heisenberg buries his money in the desert and convinces Jesse to leave town, but Jesse agrees to surrender to Hank and his partner Steve (Steven Michael Quezada). Hank, Steve and Jesse manage to capture Walter in the desert. Walter, thinking that Jesse would be alone, hired Todd's uncle Jack (Michael Bowen) and his men to come and execute him, but tries to back out when he sees Hank with him, however Jack ignores this and a shootout ensues. Jesse is captured, Steve is shot, Hank is wounded, then coldly killed by Jack despite Walter's pleas. The mobsters find the hidden money and seize the quasi-totality, Todd insisting to leave him a small part of it. Walter then decides to flee with his family, but Skyler and Walter Jr. (RJ Mitte), terrorized, refuse to follow him.
Walter leaves to live in reclusion in New Hampshire, but his cancer relapses. Jesse is reduced to a slave by Todd, and after an escape attempt, Todd coldly shoots Andrea, Jesse's girlfriend. Later, Walter takes the risk to contact his son in order to give him money, but this one refuses and declares that he would prefer him dead. Desperate, Walter is about to turn himself in before he stumbles upon a television interview with his former partners, who downplay his contribution to the creation of their company. Overcome with resentment, he decides to act. He entrusts, under threat, the 10 million dollars which remain to him to his former associates, by making them promise that they will give them to Walter Jr. at his majority. He then says goodbye to Skyler and confesses to her that he did all that to feel alive and not for his family as he had always affirmed it. He manages to free Jesse and to kill Jack, Todd and their men, but is mortally wounded. He dies in a meth lab on his 52nd birthday, two years to the day after the events of the first episode.

Ironically, Walt did a better job of destroying the meth business than the whole DEA.

Imagine if your best bar stories started with, " I had this high school chem teacher...".

The final nod that Walt and Jesse gave each other just brought tears to my eyes. Made me think of all the terrible things they (mostly Jesse) has been through

Jesse's first words to Walt
-you want to cook crystal meth?

Jesse's last words to Walt
-then do it yourself.

“I want this”
“Then do it yourself”
Jesse finally disobeys Walt, the one thing he could never do up till that point

The difference between his final words to family and enemies is funny.

With Hank he was pleading to set things right, with Skyler he's giving her a perfectly explained way out of the situation, with Jesse there's few words, but all the emotion.

With Lydia he says "I poisoned you, you're dead, goodbye."

For most of the series, Jesse was in the passenger seat, with no control. But finally he is in the drivers seat. He is free.

Jesse leaves the lab, and lives.
Walt enters the lab, and dies.

I seriously love how parallel are Walter and Jesse, Walt its first shown as a good family man and Jesse is shown as a unmoral junkie, just to find out Jesse is the good hearted and Walter its the evil itself

Imagine if that gate was reinforced and Jesse's story ended with him crashing into it, wrecking the car, and cracking his head open

Lydia's perspective must've been terrifying. She calls Todd, expecting to hear the good news that Walt is dead, but instead she learns that Walt killed all of them AND her.
For years afterwards, Walter will be known in the underworld as a legend that killed all his enemies.

I'm convinced the acting I saw in this show, especially from these two, was the best acting I've ever seen.

"Goodbye Lydia" - Walt's last words ever.

2:34 Aaron's acting is literally so perfect here it makes me mad. He's looking at him with hardened anger at first but then his face softens, and then he takes one last look just filled with sadness at Walt because he knows he's going to die soon. It feels impossible considering all the shit Walt put him through but I think Jesse actually forgave him in this moment. And it makes me want to cry

Remember, Walt knew Jesse as a teenager, likely for several years. As a teacher, I couldn't imagine knowing one of my students from 10 years ago would end up becoming a slave for 6 months to Nazis.

Todd liked Lydia so much that he had a ringtone named after her

I’m glad that after so many failed attempts and misdirects, the finale finally let us see the ricin in action

A lot of people seem to think Walt didn't care about Jesse, as well as the other way around. It's just not true. Walt cared about Jesse, which is why he chose to save him in the end. It's obvious that Walt cared, he just cared way more about himself.

Edit: (SPOILERS FOR BETTER CALL SAUL)

Now there's even MORE proof of Walt caring for Jesse. During a flashback scene in the final episode of Better Call Saul, Jimmy asks Walt about regrets. For a second, Walt stares down at the watch that Jesse had previously given to Walt at his birthday.

This scene was the one that made me feel truly, and utterly happy.

Jesse, after 2 years of selling his mind to Walt, after 2 years of witnessing and committing deaths that he was forced into, after 2 years of being forced into everything that caused him pain. Was finally free. Lydia was gone. His kidnappers were gone. And he could live for himself.
