Was the first time in a decade someone slowed down enough to show the ghost snare positions. I appreciated that. Would love to see a deep dive on ghost snares, velocities and transient and tone shaping of them.

You are very good at breaking a complex topic down into its key elements and then explaining it step by step. It was very easy to follow along. Definitely the best beginner friendly explanation of a DnB drum pattern that I have seen. I really like that you first developed the foundation and then showed how to incorporate variations while also explaining what not to do in order to retain the DnB feel.

Subbed. Wanna try some dnb this year. fingers crossed. that's the genre I first fell in love with in the early 2000s before anything else.

Thank you for actually using a midi instrument and not just dropping audio sample clips in arrangement view. Thats my biggest petpieve among "producers"

Love it, not many good teachers on this on this youtube thing. I wanna know where the Amen break is tho. Ahem. I Am Old. When I first got into DnB in the 90s the tempo was around 163. How things change, eh? Great vid. edit; if i may, i would also suggest using 1/4 notes within those templates, so the ghost snare would be 1/4 of one step further forward, or behind, just enough to make it more full in the headspace.

I have been using Ableton for 15 years and still learned something here. How about some jungle patterns ....

What are all these return tracks you have?

Do you typically use swing on your drums? Not sure what the convention is for DnB.
