Viewer interview! Michael Brown hacked the Google hiring process. He tried the jobs page and couldn't get in through the front door. He found another way, asking the right questions, and hacking the system by figuring out what people at HQ wanted. Cool story from someone from the YouTube community.

Thinking like an owner. So important, yet rare among employees,

Loved that little piece of advice from Michael's grandfather, "if you want to start working at a company, just pick up a broom and start sweeping the floors there." (7:37)

I remember seeing Michael's comment on your other video where he mentions this. Its crazy( in an awesome way) that he is featured in a whole video now :D

A really nice and thoughtful video to remind some of us that we've stopped looking for that window. thanks Garry

I like the title. I can relate. There's no intention of being annoying, but unless you ask me to stop in no uncertain terms, I'll keep applying.

Amazing story, Thank you so much for sharing! This really inspires me to work harder and do everything I possibly can to get myself into the industry. As a new grad in a liberal art college, located in a mountain, it has not been easy.

Trying for Amazon, Right now . Fingers crossed 🤞but the only fear I have is if I got comfortable in these companies and stopped hustling towards building ideas into reality. 😶

@garry such a great story. This is what i did to become a software engineer as well. I took a data entry job I thought i could automate. Next thing i know im out competing masters degree grads because of raw tenacity that I showed during the interview process by telling them I automated my $11/hr part time warehouse job and created a small suite of software tools because I thought it was fun :)
