It seems like so many people think MSC is the worst cruise line. I had a great Caribbean cruise on the seascape, I even thought the food was pretty good. What do you think?

It’s basically another fee. Tipping is done for an outstanding job. Not for someone who is just doing their job. We need to get off this tipping bullshit

I opt out of tipping. I leave my cabin Stewart $60.00 or more on a five night cruise and leave my waiter $10 to 20 for service when I go to the mdr

To be perfectly honest, I don't like the fee system, they've set up I'd prefer the old way of tipping directly. I've played along with it, but each cruise I like it less and less. NCL even states the money goes into an incentive program. On my next cruise I'm going to ask my cabin attendant, point blank, which does the crew prefer.

Crew member salaries:
When you see the record profits posted by most cruise lines lately, and their elevated fares? They damn well should pay their crews properly.
AND tips are an appreciation from the customer, the passenger.

Wow, you are a great tipper. We usually give the cabin attendant 20 to 40 extra at the end of the cruise and that’s about it. I hadn’t thought of narcan that is a possibility. Reports keep blaming alcohol, that might have been part of it but there is more to this story!

Hello 🙋🏻‍♀️ I Believe that Cruise lines pay their employees with the Tip money, they don’t receive any extra compensation 😮😒🤔😞

RCCP "Navigator"?
That dude was more than just "inebriated" by all appearances. Will wait for toxicology results before speculating.

You might want to check the stories coming out about the MSC Fire, Yes it was put out in minutes, but it did result in the elevators being out for days, trapping many people with limited mobility.

Why should the passengers be expected to pay these gratuities for all these emplouyes ??? If you stop and get gas are you expected to pay the clerk inside "? When you eat in a resturant are you expected to pay the kitchen help, the lady at the cashregester, or the guy washing dishes ? NO. The business is responsible for paying their employes a wage to keep them, so why should cruise ships be any different ?

We have taken countless cruises in the last 20 years. We never do prepay gratuities and have then taken off our bill at customer service. You can't trust the cruise lines as there is an administration fee for passing the tips out to workers. However, we do tip our room steward and waiters very well, which is more than the suggested rate. The CruiseLine's are too greedy to give the workers a fair shake. That's why we don't do the ships tip payouts.

Please do not encourage guests to take gratuities off at Guest Services, not a good move., creating long lines. Gratuities go the crew's online accounts so that they can send money home electronically. Give cash only if you want to add Extra tips.
