If you look at the expressions Ranboo makes while singing with Tommy, you can see how uncomfortable and disturbed he is. While Tommy is completely under Dream's control and practically emotionless (minus the smiling), Ranboo seems more aware of his situation and slowly express more of his real feelings about what's happening. It's probably why Dream only pulled Ranboo back and showed him the smiley face, to get him in his control.

the lifeless marionettes of tommy and ranboo are so creepy but so cool! and it feels like a pretty accurate representation of how c!dream probably sees them.

Since I already talked about this to my sibling might as well throw my opinion here too: at around 0:31 when Dream looks down at Ranboo, in my opinion he has this weirdly fond look in his eyes which makes this scene a little more scary. It's like Dream is looking fondly at Ranboo because he's doing what Dream says

Ok, let's just make a list of how perfect this is!
1. The expressions- Dream looks so manipulative, Tommy looks so possessed, and Ranboo really looks scared. My favorite parts are at the beginning and the end
2. The movements- Dream is so sleek and evil looking! And the way he whips Tommy and Ranboo around is just beautiful
3. THE DREAM DESIGN OMG IT'S BEAUTIFUL
4. The song choice- It's great! I love it
All in all, 10 out of ten, <3 <3 <3!!

Before this, i would have not belived there was magic in real life, but now i'm fully convinced this animatic enchanted me. I had to re-watch this multiple times to break free from the binding that's cast on this, but you know what? Maybe i wouln't mind having that enchantment on me for the rest of my hardcore world- You did a great work with this!

The setting here is so fantastic, the movement of the strings and the puppets are really dynamic despite being non-sentient, and just framed in a fantastic way!
