James: I'm not one of those people that can open a bottle with anything, I need a bottle opener.
Also James: *opens bottle with a spoon*

I'm quite late for this, but here are some facts about fritz-kola because I'm German and they're one of the best things that has happened to our beverages industry in a while! In 2002 two students were just looking for any idea to become their own bosses and came up with the concept of a more "adult" cola - less sugar, more caffeine! The goal was to create a contrast to what's arguably the best known product in the world - you know the one - and have a more independent and local image. They're based in Hamburg and when they had to come up with the logo for the first batch they decided to just put both of their faces on the bottle caps, simply because it's a foolproof way to avoid any copyright difficulties. Other than Cola they also offer more naturally flavored fruit drinks like lemon, orange, melon or rhubarb but they also have their version of a Mate soft drink (based on the Yerba Mate tea that is widely spread in South America and some other parts of the world like Syria and Lebanon) that has become very popular very quickly in Germany within the last decade or so, most prominently by the Club Mate brand. They have quickly become a favorite among cafe and bar owners who want to offer more local products with some character to it throughout all of Germany and they are doing a good job of walking the fine line between getting more and more popular and still holding on to their core brand values and identity. My personal favorite is the Cola-Orange mix aptly named after the German linguistic concoction "Misch-Masch" with a slightly different bottle design than the rest of their drinks. If you ever come across that light-blue label with the red cap, go ahead and treat yourself! Now, the Karamel-Kaffee flavor has already sparked some polarizing conversations, some love it, some hate it. I usually end up getting it, like once or twice a year. It just feels like there's a time and place for it. When you know, you just know. I am aware of how pathetic this sounds but hey, you've come this far, so here's my conclusion: I really appreciate that fritz really does branch out with drinks like this and completely owns up to it in a way. I'm sure this flavour has not been selling super well and they are quite big now so they don't rely on creativity as much anymore but it's been available for years and still is! And I kinda love the loyalty to the few people out there who love that drink.

Anyway, greetings from a soft drink enthusiast from Germany and I'm glad you didn't hate it James!

Would love to see a Japanese canned coffee comparison. They're all dreadfully sweet, but I could watch James grimace all day.

This was truly entertaining! I just became a flight attendant this year and I bought the aeropress after hearing you talk about it. It saved my life, to be dramatic

After each video you create I think to myself just how much we have in common, especially taste preferences and a penchant for sarcasm. Then you opened the bottle with a spoon and broadened the gap. Well done man. Well done.

Never tried the Karamell-Kaffee, but I've loved basic Fritz Kola for years :) Great stuff.

You do like somethings James. You made me appreciate Coca Cola for a second. Well theoretically.

I feel compelled to write this comment on a 3 years old video, but here goes: I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that I think I like "bad coffee", because my daily driver is just a cheap coffeemaker using off-the-shelf ground coffee and bottled water, but also I really like the Coca-cola coffee drink. It makes me sad to know I might not be able to share a coffee with James, but I stand by my "bad" choices. Thank you for reading this, anybody who does.

James describing original Coca-Cola is actually more compelling than any Coke advertising I’ve ever seen.

My goodness your showmanship, performing talents, penchant for comedy, and editing, so...on...point! Also deepened that special place in my heart for you with your journalistic integrity at the beginning and acknowledgment of producer differences. Thank you!
