About Over The Garden Wall:
On an adventure, brothers Wirt and Greg get lost in the Unknown, a strange forest adrift in time. A wise old woodsman and bluebird Beatrice help them find their way. Along the way, Wirt's thoughts envelope him, while the wonder of the surroundings preoccupy Greg. The miniseries -- based on creator Patrick McHale's cartoon short "Tome of the Unknown" -- features animation that evokes a nostalgic storybook feeling, inspired by folk art and classic illustrations. The voices include Elijah Wood and Christopher Lloyd with Samuel Ramey, Chris Isaak and John Cleese among guests.

Listened to this with a friend while driving her to Oklahoma City during a huge rainstorm - car engine compartment started flooding. We sang along, and everyfhing turned out nice and fine.

this song combined w the old north wind is the perfect display of greg - unbreakably optimistic while still realistic in recognizing that nothing can be nice and fine all the time even in his own dream, what an awesome day-brightening character :)

That second part or verse, I love how it slows down. That and the lyrics are alluding to leaving the earthly plane and possibly passing on, "So hitch a ride into the sky, and join our band." Helps push the idea most have when watching that even this upbeat, optimistic dream sequence has some dark undertone, even if you can't immediately grasp it.

This whole scene and episode legitimately felt like a fever dream. The old cartoons felt very unsettling and creepy. Like I was just waiting for it to turn into a nightmare. Also, I think this song could be a bout a child dying and being welcomed into Heaven by these creatures. Yet another amazing song.

Greg's mind space is pretty accurate... and normal pretty, too.

The fact that Greg is slowly freezing to death while his dream is singing this song probably as an unconsious way to cope with his own near demise is both so disturbing and sad.
