Temporary Repair for Cracked Screen

Cracked the screen of your iPhone, iPad or Android gadget? You might want to follow my lead with this temporary solution to keep your gadget going until you replace the screen.

There's really no magical cure, you have to replace the glass or in my case, replace the whole LCD/digitizer/glass as a complete unit.

In this video, I used contact paper, clear tape and an x-acto to secure the glass so it can't easily break apart any further and to protect my fingers from glass splinters while I use the iPad mini 4.

I just cried a bit because I just dropped my iPad for the 5000th time and it’s not as bad as the 2 iPad minis I’ve had and broke. When I told my mum, she told to stop carrying it around the house everywhere I go. I was thinking that I could just use tape but this would be much better since I have contact paper, and we can’t afford to get the screen repaired. I’ve always said that I need a screen protector even if it doesn’t do much. I will definitely do this.

you can also check out quiapo manila for lcd/digitizer assembly most repair shop around metro manila get their parts from there. probably 40-50% cheaper. though you have to replace it yourself.

Oh oh oh if you think that’s bad mine fell of my bed into tiles in a bag and there are cracks covering it I’m just glad it still works and with quarantine when it will get fixed and Im pretty sure my sister added another one since there is another huge crack easily

My sister cheap'd out. Her iPod touch screen broke, but like your iPad, she can still use it, touch works. I told her we can just buy a replacement screen and digitizer from aliexpress. But the prices for the screen and digitizers are still expensive. So I just told her to just put a tempered glass over it, since she doesn't really care about the screen only the functionality of the iPod touch which she mainly uses as an mp3 player. The tempered glass is installed and she has no plans of replacing the broken screen.

Thank you! What if the bottom corner of the screen is completely smashed and about to fall off? I really screwed up but can’t fix it right now.. I need my iPad for the accessibility features. Will the contact paper rip the shattered glass off the corner when I need to take it off? I don’t know what to do.
