I am Catholic. We do not celebrate Halloween but do celebrate All Saints Day 🙏💖🙏💖

I used to attend a church where kids had a Halloween party. I dressed my little boy as St Michael the Archangel. The other kids were asking him what superhero he was supposed to be.

My Vigil of All Saints plan:

STAY HOME AND PRAY.

Maybe I'll dress up as Fr Chad Ripperger - that'll make anything evil hanging around the party think twice!

I have 2 children we lost that are buried at the catholic cemetery and all my children know very well what going there is about and visiting their once living brother and sister 🕊🙏🏻

I’m always reminded of St. Terese dressed up as St. Joan of Arc, when the topic of All Hallows eve arises.

Kids love to wear costumes and I loved the Father Chad's suggestions about dressing up as one of the saints. I also liked his comment about not allowing 'disordered' celebrations or costumes. It amazes me how many little kids come to my house dressed as evil spirits, prostitutes, monsters, and the like. Kids should be encouraged to dress as historical characters, or occupational themes...I would even accept dressing up as teddy bears or (friendly) animals, which is what my grandson's public school does for their 'trunk or treat' party. It keeps it positive.

Looking at society today, Halloween seems to be everyday now.
We should also pray these satanists be brought to justice.

I made a point going to a friend's Halloween party by going as the Priest from the Exorcist.

Praying the rosary wards off a lot of evils. "I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who pray the rosary."- Blessed Virgin Mary.

Father Ripperger is right about Samhain ( Halloween) not being the most holy day for the satanists, but it is a high holy day to them, nonetheless, and we should all spend that day in prayer. Just saying.

This has been a topic in our family for the past two years. I converted to Catholicism in the summer of 2020 (after a pretty miraculous conversion). My husband is agnostic. I cannot “win them all”, but he is slowly coming to understand Jesus - he now will occasionally talk about Jesus seriously, whereas prior he would roll his eyes and he believed Jesus was not even a real, historical person (just a myth). We still take our boys trick-or-treating. They are little so they have never dressed up as anything “scary” or evil.... and they will not. This year they are going as Mario and Luigi. The only school we are considering is Catholic school (my husband’s on board), but for now I homeschool our oldest. Scary, creepy decorations are out. We stick with pumpkins and foliage now.

There are some Catholic Church parishes who have safe parties and children dress up as a saint.

I pretty much close the doors at Halloween. I come back out on All Saints Day.

My mom took us kids to the cemetery frequently. We used to run around and meet to say a prayer. It was great. And now I visit my parents grave several times a year.

At this time of the year, this is when I go into full deliverance prayer action, and bless my home.

In México 🇲🇽 is called “Día de muertos” literally “Day of the Death” and is celebrated in november 2nd.

November 1 is called “día de todos los Santos” and october 31 is called “vigilia de todos los santos”

I realize none of this should be taken lightly and it is really quite serious, but I couldn't help smiling when Fr. Ripperger dismissively said it was the "low level hacks" that are "stirring things up" on Halloween.

Lately I’ve seen too many Christians call it the devils holiday. One, the devil doesn’t get a day unless you let him. Two, dedicate this day like you would everyday to the lord. Watch a biography on a saint, pray a rosary, or bless the Halloween Candy. If at Christmas we can focus on the birth of Christ and at Easter his Resurrection then Halloween should be about giving glory to God for the people who served him. Halloween should be about looking at the lives of these men and women and hoping to be at least half as good as they are. TakeBackHalloween.
