OpenWRT - Mikrotik RB2011 OpenWRT vs. RouterOS Performance Test

In this video, I am going to perform some tests with the Mikrotik RB2011 running OpenWRT 19, and compare it with the result of the router running RouterOS.
The test consits of PPPoE speedtest & CPU usage overview, Wireguard VPN throughput and Software Offloading (OpenWRT)/Fast Track (RouterOS). Since OpenVPN is not fully supported by RouterOS, I will run the test only on OpenWRT. Finally, there will be SQM QoS test with the Mikrotik RB2011 running OpenWRT.

Because of these videos I've watched, I've been running OpenWRT on my 2 Linksys routers: WRT1900ACS_v2 & WRT1900AC_V1. Despite the lack of storage capacity, they are nonetheless very good running for this setup. Great content btw.

Hey Van, are you some kind of brand ambassadors for OpenWrt? I wish to see you do more with other routing OS like PfSense, OPNSense, Endian Firewall, ClearOS, and IPFire. And you can make interesting content and compare the different OS and how it performs.

I don't see a table which explain on which test which one faster
which feature do you prefer in ROS compare to OpenWRT or vice versa

You didn't run the last test on RouterOS and decided to end the video here. RouterOS has a better, more compact interface for Windows where you can set up a complex configuration without jumping between HTML pages. With all other alternatives I'm stuck with bloated WebUI or *gasp* command-line. And I've learned how to use it.

You should do a some more research on RouterOS before you start comparing it, you have no fasttrack rule in the firewall.
