Adam Smith Tells His Story

Показать описание
My name is Adam Smith, and I was born in Scotland in 1723. I was a philosopher, economist, and writer, and I am widely regarded as one of the most important figures in the history of economics.
I studied at the University of Glasgow and later taught there as a professor of logic and then of moral philosophy. During this time, I wrote my most famous work, "The Wealth of Nations," which was published in 1776.
In this book, I argued that economic prosperity and growth could be achieved through the principles of free trade, competition, and specialization. I believed that the market should be left to regulate itself and that government intervention should be limited.
I also believed in the importance of division of labor and specialization in increasing productivity and efficiency. My ideas had a significant impact on the development of capitalism and the industrial revolution.
Throughout my life, I wrote extensively on a wide range of topics, including ethics, political philosophy, and social theory. I died in 1790, but my ideas and influence continue to shape economic theory and policy to this day.
Today, I am considered one of the fathers of modern economics, and my ideas are still widely studied and debated by economists and philosophers alike.
