Who You Should and Shouldn't Invite to a Wedding - Part 1

If a friend really wants you to go to a wedding, but you don't agree with the relationship, would you go?

I agree with Adrienne. If it’s a wedding where one of the spouses is abusive, manipulative, just bad news, I would not attend because I don’t want to support a relationship like that, But if it’s a couple where I just don’t see sparks and don’t think they will last (an opinion I will keep to myself) then I would attend. But if they do end up lasting a long time then I would be happy for them.

If you are my friend, and I didn't approve of the wedding, I would still go. Like Tamera says, I would silently support you, and wish you the best! It's your life, not mine!

I mean how many marriages have people ‘approved of’ just for everything to fall apart?
It’s okay to not approve of the person a loved one has chosen but it’s not your choice to make. Lovingly express your concerns but leave it at that. Respect their decision if they decide to ahead with it, attend the wedding and pray that they work out. If it’s a mistake they will learn in their own time

Invite people who have been apart of the progression of your relationship & supported you to and through while everybody else was saying no... They're the ones who matter the most when it comes to who should be invited! Now i will say... There are people who are extremely close snd can read a bad dude a mile away... So its hard to choose sometimes as well

My husband’s cousin refused to come to our court wedding because “it’s not even a real wedding “ she said. Still happily married to my husband 10yrs and two kids later. You don’t know the whole story and what goes on between people when it’s just the two of them..sometimes people don’t know..

Just because people go on to be married for 30 years doesn't mean they are happily married though. Some are just driven by the motivation to prove everyone wrong and show they they can be together for a lifetime, even at the expense of their own happiness. That's why I go to all weddings, whether I approve or not. Its their life. I have my own to worry about.
