For centuries, an ancient curse was used to support the terrible evils of slavery. It’s a curse that appears in one isolated verse in the Bible. Even today, this misunderstood curse still lingers with us as a legacy of shame. Fortunately, through tracing history and honest examination, researchers have exposed the lie of a cursed race.

Another concern for African descendants is that Christianity is a white man’s religion, and that they should be looking elsewhere for faith. You may be surprised what a journey back before the days of slavery reveals about the faith of the African forefathers. In fact, it goes back to the very first followers of Jesus.

Many people who are descendants of slaves have returned to the continent of Africa in search of their historical and spiritual roots. But most aren’t aware of a long lost Christian heritage and identity in Africa and in the Bible. Until now.

Africa and the Bible seeks to expose the myths and bring light to some of the questions we ask. You’ll discover the spiritual heritage and identity of people of African descent through this 3-part program from Day of Discovery.

The journey includes:

I was taught as a child that my ancestors were great black people. I was raised as a child to never think that another was better than me. I was raised as a child to know that I was beautiful in the eyes of the Lord God and Jesus Christ. Now as a grown man I always known this. I was lucky that I had parents and grandparents and relatives that were good black people. Proud beautiful black people. Thank you God for giving me love ❤️

I am a 75 year old white man who from the time I was a young boy could already see what was being done to the Black race was wrong. Though I am a Christian Believer this is the first time I have ever heard or seen this. It really makes it come together for me. My daughter, who I only a couple of years ago found after she was adopted at birth, is married to a Black gentleman who is a Deacon at their church. I think the world of Philip. And he's funny too. Thank you for posting this video & May God Bless.

As a white man, this is a source of great shame. Thankful to God for His grace, discernment, love and the true equality we enjoy in Him.

The Ancient Greek poets and historians consistently referred to the Ethiopians (Αιθίοπες) and the other proximate peoples of Africa as a beautiful, virtuous, and divine race. To the Greeks, Nubia, Cush, and Ethiopia was the homeland of the Blessed (Mακάριοι). Fraternal greetings to all from Delphi, Greece. 🌿🏛🇬🇷

I have never understood racism, the colour of someone’s skin has never influenced my feelings towards them.

I watched this, full of tears, because finally this issue is being addressed by Christians! Most of my negative experiences have been from white Christians! I am an ordained minister and have wondered why we still do not embrace Galatians 3:28. I have lived all around the world- through my father being in the Army and I served in the Air Force, people do not like black people. This made me wonder to the LORD...why? Thanks for taking the time to tackle this subject in such a respectful manner. (Margaret wrote this)

What is even more tragic is that this myth has permeated African culture. The belief that we're lesser because we're a cursed, hopeless continent. The cursed continent, the dark continent. I heard this myth throughout my childhood as a justification for my country's lower prosperity and economic progress. I didn't believe it, but just didn't know how to refute it.
This was enlightening. I'm pleased that thanks to this documentary, I can now refute it, using the Bible itself. I wish this part especially, was taught in every African school. I hope more harmful myths about us are unveiled and understood. As Africans we should strive to recover the ingenuity and confidence that our early century ancestors had in order to move our society forward.

I’ve been studying English literature in America and have felt so heavy and at a loss for words about how “Christians” were at the root of slavery and brutality, the extent of it all. There’s so much to uncover but this insight is comforting to understand somehow. It doesn’t answer everything but it’s reassuring to know God is in control and he has a plan.

as a little girl i watched hours and hours of TBN because of how i was raised. i personally watched John Hagee teach this disgusting heresy to eruption of his huge audience’s applause. These people will be judged. God doesn’t sleep.

Africans must pray for peace and prosperity. I thank God that we have survived slavery. God preserved us.

I think the biggest problem is that we tend to forget that all of us are God’s creation. Just that should remind us how stupid racism is

We need more preaching like this cause this is what inspires people to come to Jesus Christ.

I came here because of the title of this video. It’s becoming a lot more clearer as to why racism existed in history and some of it still unfortunately exist today. Not to mention, it also explains why in the movies, racist white characters would use the Bible for their own evil purposes.

The best class I took in college was black history from the 13-14 hundreds to present. Taught by an African professor. All our books had to be special ordered from out of the US. A few was from the us but the comparisons were an eye opener. As a child I loved studying archaeology the Bible is always the encyclopedia by far.
