People flock to Michigan beach for Memorial Day weekend

The crowd at the beach in Grand Haven was relatively light for a holiday weekend with perfect weather, but many people ventured out to the lake shore on Saturday, May 23, 2020. The day prior, Gov. Whitmer's extended Michigan's stay-at-home order remains in effect through June 13.

It is not just the beach people are flocking to...they are flocking to all of the tourist areas in Michigan. I am dismayed at the number of people from counties that had large numbers of patients with the CV19 virus; like, Wayne county. In our small community up North, at the local convenience store/gas station no one wears a mask and never did...the same for the local bar. I am putting them on my own quarantine to see if we become a new hot spot..especially, after hearing one of the "weekenders" cough with what sounded like a really, really bad covid cough...from a distance. (I heard the cough from the next street over..it was that bad.)
