MOVING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY ALONE: What You Need to Know Before You Leave (Part 1)
Показать описание
ABOUT THIS VIDEO: Hey guys! I moved to the US from the UK alone when I was 18 for college, and after a year spent in London after graduating, I've moved back to the States. -- In this video I'll be going over advice for before you move, so you can take from my mistakes and learn from them! These are just general tips and tricks, not extensive by any means, but they are really centred on optimising your budget and avoiding silly mistakes. ** AFTER SOME THOUGHT ON WHAT ELSE THERE IS TO KNOW, I'M COMING OUT WITH A PART 2 IN A COUPLE OF DAYS, SO STAY STUNED FOR THAT**
All in all this video will cover:
- Changing banks, changing up, and transferring your money
- Ways to keep up with friends
- Cultural differences between your home country and destination country
- Packing and how to save money when moving all your things!
Hope you enjoy!

ABOUT ME:
A little about me: my name is Sophie and I'm 23 years old! I was born and raised in England, and then when I was 18 I decided to move to the US for university (or college as the yanks say it) ;) from there I spent 4 years studying politics at a liberal arts college in Tennessee, and after graduating I moved to Seattle for work! About 6 months after graduating I then decided to move back to London for a year to take a job offer in sales for a tech company, and while that was SUPER fun and a big learning experience, my then boyfriend of 4 years (and now husband!) and I decided to get married and I moved back out to Tennessee as of 2020. I'm currently on the K1 visa, and adjusting status in the States right now. If you've managed to work your way through this whole paragraph on me, first of all WELL DONE you should get an award! And second of all, this has been such a whirlwind of an experience that I wanted to start documenting it all, both for myself but also to help others. So this channel will be everything regarding life in the US, adjusting as an expat from the UK, travelling, and probably more!
