Hits me right in the nostalgia. Jesus 2010 doesn’t feel that long ago but it was my childhood, and when I first started watching Doctor Who.

This version's cinematics might be my all-time favorite yet. All the insanity outside the Tardis and even having the Tardis get struck by lightning gives this impression like something is going horribly wrong, which really gives a feeling of intensity to the opening.

I actually like this Series 5 opening theme because it has a 60s type of feel to it. It's not overbearing nor overly busy...as in Series 1-4....just a bit more groovy cool sounding...cool synth sound.  Not bombarding you over the head like the others.  Good job Murray Gold!

Constantly changing like the Doctor, but still remaining the same.

Holy cow, I absolutely LOVE this new theme! It has such a dramatic feel to it, very intense and mysterious. It goes so well with the opening theme visuals of the TARDIS getting struck by lighting in the time vortex. I have to say, Matt Smith is absolutely brilliant as the 11th Doctor, this series is shaping up to be incredible.

I didn't hear of Doctor Who until August 2013... I keep hearing about him but not the TV series.. I watched the series with 11th Doctor.. And I thought Matt Smith was Doctor Who.. I didn't know he was called the Doctor not Doctor Who... So I looked up the history and now I'm Doctor Who fan.. So yeah.. I know all 12 Doctors but not the companions and all of the monsters.. I'll keep watching to find out... I don't want Whovians getting mad at me..

You've got to remember, the original serial was a completely different show. It wasn't the action-packed show that we have today. It was largely comprised of thought provoking dialogue scenes and inner conflicts within characters. Not to say that the new serial doesn't have this at times as well, because it does. It's just that now there's a new fanbase, so lots of things had to be changed to reflect that. Including music. That said, I love both serials. All Doctor Who is fantastic!
