To be clear, it is still a plugin that you can load in your DAW but it has a standalone version now as well and you can load third-party VSTs into it.

👏🏻 Another great plugin overview. It seems so amazing to me that DAWs don’t have all this built in and simple to use. I guess maybe GarageBand a “bit” I do think that representational gen AI would be a great tool here if trained on the right stuff. Also nice when the generator (AI or not) understands the renderer. Understood that sometimes realism is not the goal, but when it is I think the gen->render connection is crucial.

I agree with you about Scaler's approach to 'AI' in that it helps the artist but doesn't replace the artist.

Its not digital audio, but I understand what you mean.

We may not agree on the Serum 2. But this. I love this. This is what I had always hoped Scaler should have been all along. This makes Scaler 2 seem like that paltry little Chord Progression thing in FL studio

At 6:45 in the video you performed a zoom in on the time line...ive looked in the manual and canot find that feature, im on a pc, how did you do that, sorry for the potential dumb ?

I've found using the keys lock scale notes mode after loading up the chords I want and just playing the changes while recording works really quickly and sounds less robotic. That said, I wish there was a way to record my midi while doing that

I JUST installed Scaler 3 and am completely blown away in my initial noodling. I tend to agree with you to a point... Scaler 3 is now DAW-lite... with enough features to make is workable as a standalone, while still making it a more powerful plugin for any DAW. There are plenty of features that would be needed to make it a fully functioning DAW, but it's now a very functional standalone plugin for sure. I'm SO glad that I upgraded.

You spent too much time on Serum 2. Since I don't have it, I lost interest.

I'm a Scalar fan but I cannot fathom why I'd want a (less useful) DAW inside my existing DAW - the whole direction of Scalar is going towards "band-in-a-box" feels like a gimmick... tbh I'm also scratching my head as to why I'd want an arranger inside Serum 2... .I guess there's a big demand out there for doing more aranging inside of plugins rather than arranging in the DAW....

Hi. I have a quick question. How do u use Serum 2 with scaler. Do u route it or u can use Serum inside Scaler ? I scaned all of my plugins but only Serum 2 didn't appear on Scaler list. How did u scan for Serum inside Scaler ? Your help will be much appreciated.
