For me this is the most badass moment of Aragorn. Just beeing crowned he repeats the words of Elendil like "In your face Sauron". - "In this place I will abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world." - Just as Elendil promised...

"'Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien. Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar tenn' Ambar-metta' And those were the words that Elendil spoke when he came up out of the Sea on the wings of the wind: 'Out of the Great Sea to Middle-earth I am come. In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world.'"

This song represents what I love about Tolkien, and what differentiates The Hobbit from LOTR. It is the weight of the past, the sense that you feel  all around you the ancient that once was. The same reason why Dark Souls is my favourite game. You are but a mere puff of wind in a history engraved by great figures, and your actions, for valorous they are, are just a note written beside tales of grand deeds.

This whole scene was perfect, but there’s just something special about 0:12-0:18 it’s so beautiful and peaceful. You know what I mean??

Had this playing on repeat with the sound of wind blowing across a frozen mountain peak. Personally i felt the two sounds combined to make the song even more powerful.

LOTR will always hold a place in musical history.

He was Aragorn son of Arathorn, the nine and thirtieth heir in the right line from Isildur, and yet more like Elendil than any before him

Because it was regarded as an ancient noble language and was used by noble people/scholars/masters of tradition/etc of Gondor... it's kinda like high latin was for middle age kingdoms, you know? This sentence was originally said by Elendil, Aragorn's ancestor and the one who founded the kingdom... so I think it's actually a tradition.

Every other fantasy pales in comparison. I love most fantasy, but even the best can't even begin to do Tolkien justice

This is no mere ranger. He is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him your allegiance!

Tolkien was an Old English scholar (Old English was spoken before the Normans influenced it with French when they invaded)- he studied Beowulf quite extensively. Rohirric is Old English. I think there might even be a mead-hall mentioned in Rohan, which is an Old English concept... and definitely everyone naming their sword and everyone somehow knowing what Narsil looked like... :)
