Intimate scenes are so uncomfortable to watch sometimes especially if you are watching with other people so I loved how S4 was toned down!! Hopefully the same will happen in S5!

So refreshing in Hollywood for somebody to be willing to honor their vows and find ways to act and portray characters without intimacy scenes that really are not needed in a lot of instances that Hollywood throws them in for. Jet Li was another one of those wonderful actors that refused to do intimacy scenes because of his beliefs. Mad Respect ❤

I genuinely appreciate him coming forward about that and respecting his marriage and his wife enough to try and cut out all intimacy, especially after season 2 bc the chemistry between him and Victoria pedretti was SO GOOD and believable???? I would’ve been pissed as his wife 😭🤣🤣🤣

I'm glad Penn was comfortable enough to speak up and had a team that supported his decision. Actors know what they're signing up for and if their views change over the life of a show the team around them should be supportive. I've always been of the opinion that if actors are comfortable doing intimate scenes that show a bit more then have at it, but if they aren't that decision needs to be respected.

I love that. Intimacy scenes most of the time don’t even feel central to the story (in any tv or movie). Or at least, if they ARE central can be done in a way that’s more toned down.

It makes sense it's toned down in S4 because we have a timeskip where Joe's mental state is broken and its more focused on him shaping into a monster than a person who kills for what he believes is right. Its not about intimacy or love anymore it really feels like by the end of the season he who he feared he become honestly the ending to each season feels like a book end to the whole series I love how each season builds like a chapter in a storybook

I love this conversation. And his view on it. TV is over inflated with s*x and the fact that even the actors have some form of aversion to it is amazing. Coz the intimate scenes do not make the story. I remember a time where a love scene was two lovers attack each other with a kiss and they start taking clothes off and it cuts the scene. Imagine being a daughter in law of a family and now everyone in that family gotta see you make love faces and noises. I couldn't do it. I really respect him standing up for himself.
