Contrapunctus can come in many versions. What I specially like in this is the almost melancholic sound and then of course the professonalism of this chamber orchestra. Did Melancolia exist in Bach´s time? Im not sure, maybe it is a late invention. Anyhow, this is a wonderful rendition. And then when the musicians begin to also sing in Contapunctus 4 it sounds a little bit false, but you cannot expect clever instrumentalist to also sing perfect, can you? Overall, a wonderful interpretation with a will to make a different version of this masterpiece.
