I am a sixty seven year old classical flutist and this is my signiture, most requested piece, a piece that I played with Galway and 3000 other flutists at a flute convention in NYC, a piece that comforted mourners at funerals, honored brides and grooms at weddings, blessed many art openings and business openings, but blessed me most, but never as beautifully played as this wonderful rendition by Hauser. He is one blessed soul, one phenomenal musician.

I listened to this performance of Bach, and I start crying beacause it touches my hart and soul so deeply! And it shows how beautiful, fragile and short, life of a human being is ! Bach was truly a musical genius of the 1st order. There's so much in this piece. I've always focused on the pleading, the yearning, the reaching out from one's very soul into the undefinable. It always drives me to tears from its purity, it's sublime tenderness, it's genuine humanity, it's profound beauty and it's deep meaning. I love how that first note simply hangs there, as if it's always existed and will always exist. This is simply a transcendent piece that cannot be thought of...only felt. It really is auditory emotion. This piece's ability to connect with humanity is incalculable.

I tried listening to many renditions with piano, violin etc but cello really brings that hauntingly beautiful sound that made you feel you are falling deep deep deeper into an endless pit not knowing when you'll land at it's bottom.this is the go to music if you feel the need to cry after a shitty day.

Bach foi verdadeiramente um gênio musical da maior grandeza. Há muito a se perceber nesta peça, em particular. É possível notar claramente seu tom de súplica, de anseio, sua intenção de elevar a própria alma ao indefinível. Sua pureza, sua ternura sublime, sua humanidade genuína, sua beleza profunda e seu significado transcendente são capazes de levar às lágrimas. É incrível como aquela primeira nota, simplesmente, fica lá; como se sua existência fosse constante, não tivesse nem início nem fim. Esta é simplesmente uma peça metafísica que não pode ser pensada, mas apenas apenas sentida. É realmente uma emoção auditiva. A capacidade desta peça de se conectar com a humanidade é incalculável.
