You're so right! I tell some of my friends looks and height don't matter. I have dated men as short as 5'2'' and I'm 5'5''So many great men that are short are over looked. I always go for good character and respectful 2 all people and animals. Thank you for all your great advice.❤❤❤❤❤❤

Height and looks one must be initially attracted to the person visually. There has so be some appeal. Height should be reasonable to your own height. My opinion.

OK I have a quick one to make everyone giggle, met with a gentleman or at least I thought he was. We went to a nice restaurant, and we talked, and I asked him some questions and I found out he went through a rather contentious divorce. Remember, it’s just his side of the story. He has two daughters he does not see because he refuses to go to with the courts called reunification therapy. Being a retired officer I just explain to him that because of the divorce the children need time to get back together with both parents in a healthy way. Then at dinner, he started to slide over, rubbing my back, rubbing my thigh, and I asked him please don’t do that that’s inappropriate on our first meet and greet, and I have standards as well as boundaries and he was crossing them. He stopped apologize, as we walked outside to say good night asked for a kiss, and I said, OK Eileen didn’t give him a kiss on the cheek, and he immediately grabbed for a boob. Let’s just say that’s probably the last time he’s ever got a try that with a woman for a while. I looked at him. I said you and I are not going to work out. You are not what I want, and he had the nerve to call me a picky bitch. So I walked away laughing my ass off, ask those questions ladies stick to your standards. My standards are things like person with huge debt is a no-no. Person with financial maturity, intelligence and emotional maturity. Is this standards or pickiness?

I won't lower my standards to please anyone, men included. Besides, if I have to compromise my standards, it becomes pretty clear very fast that Mr. X is not for me. I don't expect from a man what I don't expect from myself. "Actions matching words" is very important and ought to be a reciprocal practice.

People call me picky, when it’s really that I have high standards. Congruency builds trust. It also speaks of their character. The only expectations that I have are the ones they tell me that I should. i.e. I’m going to do X for you. If they don’t follow thru, I don’t get bent out of shape, It just doesn’t feel good and goes in the wait and see category. Accountability is kindness too though, so I may still say something to him to help me understand his lack of follow thru.

Women can be just as picky as men. If victim consciousness means a person shares a story of a personal nature, I would say we can all judge most people for their negative stories of past. Persons having a high moral compass, not narcissists. Similar values, empathy, similar interests I would look for.
