Hope this helps! This boss fight was a blast but took me a while to get a feel for.

I always get him to phase two and then I get killed before doing any real damage to him

I almost beat Maliketh on my first try and then I got smashed right as I was about 2 hits away from winning. I’ve never gotten that close again. Yes this fight is no joke.

Alright folks. I finally beat him and one trick that made it possible was when he does the attack where he jumps up and plunges his sword in the ground resulting in a delayed explosion, if you get too far from him before he creates the explosion he will jump in the air and try the anime attack on you instead, if you see him jump up, turn around and try to get behind him. It leaves him open to at least 2 attacks.

So I’m still fighting him. It might be helpful for others to know that his first phase is mostly physical dam. You can block %100 his blade attacks. Don’t worry about saving your flasks because the second boss basically one shots you if you get hit anyways. Hope it helps.

Surprised you didn't mention this attack. If you get hit by the sweep, it true comboes into the horizontal helicopter spin and will 1-shot you at 60 vigor. It easily 1-shot me at 57 vigor with absorbances in the 30s.

1st phase is projectiles and retreating attacks. 2nd phase is all aggro, all the time. If you get hit by the anime multi-slash, you lose max hp and also get hit with the burn damage

This guy is much more aggressive in his second phase when I fight him

those pillars actually don't always protect you. He was at 1% health and I stood behind one and got killed by the anime attack

Beat him, but I feel like I might have had a better time using my katanas. I insisted on using dual curved greatswords (as I have for 90% of the game so far) but it was hell trying to actually get a hit and not get completely fucked. Had to pull out the Mimic for the last 30% of his health because I was tired of dying lol.

Ngl, I'm getting a bit irritated by how OTT some of these engame bosses are. Kinda sick of lightning-quick enemies with anime slash-storms, instafuck AoE's and think-fast stabs/projectiles. Feels like I'm playing Dark Souls while the bosses are playing Sekiro.

Been working on him the last few days. Still can’t get it down perfect but if you beat rykard you have the opportunity to get the blasphemous claw which allows you to parry after that anime attack. You have to get the timing down perfect but it provides a HUGE advantage to get some damage in.

Maybe it's because I'm in my mid 30s but I just it feels physically impossible to react to this guy's attacks fast enough to dodge them.

Fire does great damage to him. Black Flame specifically helped a bunch with beating this dude on my first playthrough, though I'm sure other flame spells perform just as well if not better.

My least favorite part of this fight isn’t his bullshit health drain or massive combos. It’s the fact that he moves too fucking fast, he’s so hard to actually hit with melee. He does a hop and a flip and he’s on the other side of the arena. You run up to him to try to get some damage just for him to jump to the other side once you finally get close enough. It drags the fight on way too long imo.

Thanks for the tips, I beat him twice tonight because i died after beating him on my first win lmfao. i survived the anime attack but didn't have enough time to heal, i was frames off, glass to my mouth and everything lol. at least i beat him a second time next attempt
