This needs to go to the Supreme Court. The big question is: Are Property Taxes Constitutional? Property taxes are an invasion of our Right to privacy and due process. Mitch makes an excellent point. End all property tax. A sales tax is the best way to collect tax. The FairTax does this anonymously and equally for all consumers.

Holy crap. I used to live in DCAD and always thought the appraisals were ridiculous - we thought they were rigged but I am just your average homeowner. Moved downstate to Burnet County and it's even worse - after the city voted to build a new meeting building, suddenly my property tax evaluation skyrocketed. I fought it and got it reduced, but all of these illegal appraisals need to be overturned.
