2019 Audi Q3 VS Volvo XC40 – Crash Test

The new Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40 have both achieved top-notch five-star ratings in the Euro NCAP crash test, despite changes to the way vehicles are assessed.

- Audi Q3

The second generation Audi Q3 has scored 5 stars in the latest round of Euro NCAP Crash Tests. The model tested was the Q3 2.0-litre TDI, 4x4 and was a left hand drive model. The new-gen Q3 was introduced a few months ago and it comes eight years after the Q3 was first introduced globally. The new Audi Q3 scored 95 per cent for adult occupant protection and 86 per cent for child occupant protection. In terms of safety assist systems the SUV scored 85 per cent.

- Volvo XC40

According to the data released by European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), the new Volvo XC40 has received a five star rating in the latest crash test results. Winner of the European Car Of The Year 2018 award, the Volvo XC40 scored 97 per cent for adult occupant protection, putting it amongst the top five cars for this aspect of safety tested by Euro NCAP in the last three years. With this, the XC40 joins its larger siblings in the 60 and 90 series as one of the safest cars on the roads.

The new Volvo XC40 joins the likes of the XC60, the S90 and V90 in making history for Volvo Cars as the first manufacturer to hold all top three car rankings in Euro NCAP's Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) tests - AEB City, AEB Inter-Urban and AEB Pedestrian. The four Volvo cars are the only cars to have achieved perfect scores in all three AEB categories.

Air-bag deployment timing seems superior in the XC 40 copmapred with the Q3... Have 1st hand experience of Volvo air-bag deplyoment after having beeing T-boned by a Lincoln SUV in an S60 and know that it works...poor lady in the Lincoln was sent to hosiptal, the cops gave me a ride back to work...

Volvo driver assistance works better than in audi on higher speeds. Audi 55 kph does perform no good, while volvo still doing good even at 80 kph

Love that volvo glass, super strong, at least you wont bleed to death from flying glass if you get t boned by another car

Volvo isn't old Volvo .. Audi is much better in every tests and stronger

Volvo is better in passive safety but Audi is better in safety assist and in vulnerable road users. Conclude.
