That's actually one of the best lines I've ever heard. "Hate is a powerful word, which is why I'm glad it exists because I hate her."

"Broke the chart, lit it on fire, blamed someone else and over saw the punishment" is my new favorite sentence

Order of the Phoenix became my favorite book not for normal reasons, nah it became my favorite because everyone, including the teachers, HATED Umbridge with such passion that it made chapters such as Career Advice, absolutely iconic. Sprout giving Harry points for "passing over a pot", McGonagall telling Peeves how to unscrew the light thing properly, and Flitwick letting the firecrackers go off because "he did not know if he had permission", were all such great touches to add to the story that made it so funny before it got sad. It was a good balance. I also love McGonagall's determination to make Harry an Auror simply because Umbridge said he couldn't, as well as the iconic line "have a biscuit Potter". The students also were great but the teacher's made it for me.

The fact that the dark lord had to be immortal 7 times to fight a teenager and still lost is somewhat humiliating.

Our principal looked and acted like Umbridge. Blonde hair, sweet high voice, forcing aura, and the style... We had an english lecturer from Britain for two weeks. They had a comment about our principal "This woman reminds me Umbridgde, does she?" I almost fell from my chair.

I was a bit baffled when, while describing Peter's transgressions, you missed that teency weency instance of Peter committing mass murder. Seriously, he slaughtered thirteen people with one spell just to make a getaway. It reinforces that Peter was both far more talented than most people realised (he was a Marauder) and also far more brutal. We've never heard of anyone else killing so many people with one spell before or after. His weak character concealed a man who was just as twisted and evil as any other Death Eater.

And the most awful thing about it? He became that man while growing up with James, Sirius and Remus. He saw them bullying Severus and he liked it. He was attracted to the charisma and power of James and Sirius who never encouraged Peter to stop fawning over them, resulting in Peter's attraction to an even more powerful wizard Over time, Peter became a murderous monster and his closest friends never noticed.

Dark, huh?

I feel like aunt Marge is the muggle equivalent of umbridge, I’m pretty sure they would be besties if she was a wizard 😂

I recently read an opinion post explaining Percy's perspective as an awkward middle child surrounded by popular, successful siblings (Bill, Charlie, Fred & George) who is constantly trying to prove his merit from within their shadows. His family never seems to recognize his accomplishments, many of them choosing instead to constantly deride him for it, so no wonder he leaves as soon as possible and carries a massive chip on his shoulder. It actually made me sympathize with him.

Filch having no magic but having to clean up after and discipline kids makes it understandable why he might be grouchy, but he's definitely not supposed to be working around kids if he hates them. He's the wizard equivalent of the old teacher who you have no idea why they went into education (probably for a power trip) and reminisces about the 'good 'ol days' when you could beat kids/hang them in the dungeon. Quite realistic of some in education unfortunately, with the added wizard brutality.

10:03 Either subconsciously or not, I think Snape’s bullying of Neville goes way beyond potions. The fact that Neville’s sitting in his class at all is yet another reminder of his loss. If Voldy had chosen the Longbottoms to target, he would still “have” Lily. Of course, that’s no excuse. As an adult, at some point you have to start taking responsibility for yourself and your actions! Love the video!!

Imagine being the most evil wizard ever, almost succeeding taking over the world (had it not been for those meddling kids), and then being remembered for not clipping your toenails.

Personally, Petunia and Vernon are two of the most heinous characters of the whole series in my eyes. They neglected and abused an innocent child for years and years because of their bigotry. The Dursleys made sure Harry felt isolated in every possible way, and used their son as a weapon against him, causing Dudley to become a pawn as well. They never really apologized to him either, although no apology could ever make up for what they did.

You know...in retrospect that fact Hagrid was expelled AT ALL is a basic failure of the forensic process. The victim's ghost is right there and clearly remembers the event. Why was Murtle not grilled on what killed her so they could be sure it actually was Aragog?

I think Petunia and Vernon Dursley deserve an honourable mention on that list. We got to see Marge in action once but Petunia and Vernon mistreated Harry for the whole rest of his life with them.

I can’t believe you didn’t include Uncle Vernon. I never had any nightmares because of Voldemort as a kid but i had plenty of nightmares because of Uncle Vernon

Pretty weird the Dursleys' weren't on this tbh. They abused Harry emotionally while growing at least and probably physically too.

I don't necessarily think she was the worst but I'm surprised Rita Skeeter wasn't included?

At this point I just want a video that's nothing but J, Ben or both of them ranting about everything that's wrong with Umbridge. It would probably be a very long video.

If Snape loved Lily as much as he claimed he did, why did he ever think it was ok to treat her son the way he did? What would Lily say if she could confront him about it?
_You did WHAT to my son?!_
Like, there's no way she would forgive him for that. I hope she tore him a new one after he died and they met up again.

before starting the video, I quickly guessed who might be in it. Umbridge, Rita Skeeter, Lockhart, Zacharias Smith, Pansy Parkinson, Percy were some names to come to mind. Really surprised Rita and Lockhart didn't make the cut!
