I can definitely see what you mean with Every Heart a Doorway, I just don't really know if I agree. In my experience when I've told people that I'm aroace, I haven't got that reaction about being lifeless, etc. I might be lucky in that regard though...
I need to get to Elatsoe in general, but agree, you don't have to keep on bringing up someones sexuality in a book (in general actually).
Need to pick up that guide book! Sounds cute.
