I think we need to take these SOLD listings on eBay with a grain of salt because simply stating the item SOLD does not necessarily mean that the seller got PAID.

A lot of the times scammers will charge back on their bank account, or they offer the seller the winning amount in gift cards, which is an even bigger scam. You could also create several accounts with bots or friends to up the bidding, and give each other positive feedback so it all looks good.

The Castlevania one you showed had a starting bid of 99 cents. The first bid was $37, 000.... You'd have to be pretty gullible to think that was even remotely legit.

There was a great video on YouTube from a few months ago how certain individuals were artificially jacking up the price of old games. Basically, they owned the appraisal service, their friends own the auction house, and often times, they collaborated with people to buy the game they were selling in order to give the perception that the retro game was worth more than it was.

It baffles me, that Ryujinx still calls it self simple and experimental on its website. It's a full blown emulator, with support for game updates, dlcs, etc., has a brand new sleek ui and excellent game compatibility. Way too humble.

I made my Pretendo account and played on there during the downtime past year. The community is quite friendly and active but I will play Splatoon 1's final rotation tonight on Nintendo's servers.
MVG also uploaded a video regarding Pretendo hours ago.
As for the iPhone/AppStore emulation thing, I'd be finally happy with GameBoy/Advance emulators alone but that's me.

I suspect Apple's changes are meant for things like Capcom Arcade Stadium, where ROMs are downloaded as paid DLC. Such kinds of "official emulators" are allowed on consoles but were forbidden on iOS, even though the publishers owned all copyright and would pay 30% of each purchase for Apple.

Apple's arbitrary app review could still block BYO emulators just for the sake of it, even if the rules don't specifically prohibit then.

I think Apple only added that to make themselves look better in front of regulators since they are now being trashed everywhere with lawsuits. Like when they "allowed" developers to include a different way to pay for things inside their app... But it was in a very convoluted way (I think they are getting sued for this ATM, if I remember correctly). Yeah, it is there, but not because they want you to use it. They will allow emulators to be admissible into their stores, but not in a usable state.

It might be an interesting choice to offer a home brew directory online to download games from and allow the address to be changed.
Then people could host a server for this on their home network to "download" ROMs they dumped themselves.
