I Bought the “$7” Nintendo Switch from TEMU...

I bought the famous $7 Nintendo Switch from Temu! But unfortunately, I had to pay more than $7 to get it - they advertise the $7 switch as extremely limited, and people claim to have gotten it for $7, but I'm not sure I believe them. If you look at the reviews on the switch listing I purchased from, it's a bunch of people talking about how happy they are for getting a switch for $7, but the reviews are just... weird. If you go take a look at them, you'll see what I mean. My conclusions is that yes, you can buy the $7 switch from Temu... you're just gonna have to pay more than $7 (and hand over a bunch of personal info as well).

Also btw, you can't convince me that anyone has actually paid only $7 for this switch console 😂 I mean as you can see in this video, clearly anyone can buy this switch, but the whole $7 thing seems too good to be true to me... let me know what you think

I would suspect that the actual $7 ones were sent to 'influencers' to drum up word of mouth for temu personally, that seems the normal tactics employed by these companies

People getting these from
temu and other sites for cheap has actually forced Amazon to required sellers to certify that they are selling the US version of the TotK switch when listing it for sale on Amazon. Everyone getting the $7 switches has flooded the US market with these foreign region systems.

I appreciate the detail and effort that went into this video, but personally the fact that you diddnt buy the $7 switch is misleading. The issue is that, as far as I know, theres no way to be sure that the ones you actually purchased are the same ones you would be sent if you were to buy the $7 ones.

My advice for shopping on TEMU would be the same I've upheld for Wish and AliExpress;
Don't buy electronics, keep to simple stuff, I've gotten brushes, socks, just little things I wouldn't be sore over if it happened to be a knockoff.

The switch isn’t region locked so there’s no problem with that (eshop is based of the country set on your Nintendo account not the console)

You can tell it's a Japanese console by the serial prefix. NA consoles only start with XAW, XKW, XTW & XJW. Any other serial is foreign and can't be repaired by NOA but can be replaced with a domestic model. Japanese consoles will always end with J like XAJ, XTJ, XKJ, & XJJ. Foreign models won't have any issues downloading NA software and the digital software region is based on your account not the console. If you had a Japanese game card though you wouldn't be able to use NA DLC with it.

I was on the Temu band wagon, loved the products and cost. However, I returned a dress because it did not fit. They issued me a credit. Then, they debited my back account the cost of the dress. Stating they did not receive the dress. So far, we are even except I don't have the dress. Then they send me a confirmation of receiving the dress. So, now they have the dress, they have the original payment and a second payment they debited from my account. I have been texting back and forth and they continue to state I have the credit. I decided I was tired of arguing with them and would use my credit and chalk up the $68.55 as a learning lesson. I tried to use my credit and received a notice that my credit was not available. I am posting this on all the Temu haul videos I can find. If you buy from Temu - do not return anything! They are horrible and have now charged me twice for a dress that I do not have.

That doesn't look like dust. It's probably fibers shedding from something inside the box like the cardboard. That's what it looks like to me anyway.

That 'odd' Hong Kong mains adapter is in fact a 100% legit UK adapter. Hong Kong is an ex-British colony, their power outlets are still the same as ours I believe.

I bought a brand-new switch from BestBuy and has issues connecting to 5G as well. Luckily I have 2.4 activated as well and after the update it worked just dandy on 5G. By the way: Anyone that has a little bit of understanding of the channels should look into the overlap with their neighbors. I moved mine to a different channel and the connection was night and day.

I have never gotten a more bad vibe from a store than temu

I believe it's due to Nintendo coming out with a new version to keep up with handhelds like the Steam deck etc. They're made in China and Japan so there is probably a surplus of consoles left in their factories so knowing that gamers are going after the new they're selling them at a lower rate to make something off them opposed from letting them become even more obsolete to the point they wouldn't be able to give them away.

Part of me was expecting all of these to be one of those "Famiclone" consoles with a bunch of NES roms packed in. Also, I highly doubt it's even possible for Switch consoles to be infected with malware.

I've had similar issues with Switch OLED not connecting to WiFi and it can unfortunately be a bad WiFi chip on the board (not to be confused with the WiFi antenna that sits on top of the heat shield which is easier to replace than the chip).

I wasn't able to get it for $7 but I did get it for $240 Hong Kong edition. That's still $100 cheaper than buying it anywhere else.

Guys if you want to see some funny stuff, check out the switch product reviews on Temu 😂 they are hilarious, basically no way they are real reviews

The WiFi channels won't matter. My Japanese console connects with no issues. However, it is very possible there might be an issue with the console's internal wi-fi connection.

I would absolutely expect spyware/malware. I'm surprised these are even allowed to ship over like this.
