I understand wanting to shake the can to hear the contents for the sake of the video but it does technically say in the directions not to shake the can before spraying, so it would have performed even better if it wasn’t shook.

Personally, I prefer the ASP Key Defender (paper spray) device. Why, because the ASP Key Defender is a solid aluminum tube with a rear trigger, and you spray the pepper spray from the front end of its aluminum tube. It also uses replaceable pepper spray cartridges, and they offer an inert cartridge(non pepper spray liquid for training). The ASP Key Defender(aluminum tube) can also be used as a kubotan when the pepper spray runs out. With these types of pepper spray cans like the one you used in this video, the nozzle can actually rotate on the top of the can and spray on an angle instead of straight in front of you where you are trying to aim. With the ASP Key Defender, you hold it like how a cop holds a Maglite flashlight, and the pepper spray comes out of the end of the tube, like how the light beam comes out the end of a flashlight. The ASP Key Defender is significantly easier to EDC/carry and is a lot more inconspicuous, but the downside is that it obviously has less volume of pepper spray than this big/bulky pepper spray can. So if you were a mail carrier, you may want to have this bigger spray can which offers more volume of pepper spray.

Wow I was just telling my sister she has to get her some mase/dog spray because she dose a lot of hiking. Where she goes there are mountain lion, Bob cats, coyote, rattle snack all kinds of dangerous animal's she could run across. She has hers dog with her, but I always tell her to have some sort of gear when your hiking in the back country. I tell her don't think your cell phone is going to get you help right away. She is a nurse so I'm shire she well aware of what I'm telling her.
I tell her to at least get a walking stick that can be used in many different ways. If you set your walking stick up right. I've watched video's on people that set there walking stick up many different ways that have all kinds of things attached to there stick.
Some even unscrew apart to break down in 3 pieces and hollow to put stuff in it.

Dogs are the most dangerous animal to humans, from the prospect of being shredded alive, you yourself or more commonly our own innocent young. Man's best friend? Nah actually quite the opposite...
Keeping in mind, that dogs need to be trained against their true nature, so that they don't behave aggressively.
