Welcome to Buckwood! – A Year In Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Week 1

In this video, I will be beginning my self-imposed challenge to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons once a day for a year in order to experience everything the game has to offer! In this first episode, I set up the Island of Buckwood and start unlocking crucial things such as better tools, the museum, and the Nook's Cranny shop!

Great and entertaining video. What makes it especially entertaining is that you mentioned not really playing this much other than a very short time after launch so it’s wonderful to hear your reactions at the goings on. I’ll definitely look forward to more!!

A couple tips that you might have picked up on since Sunday:
- the little blue thing on ur mailbox means you have mail! People will send you gifts so check your mailbox
- the communicator parts were in the sand but you can only get them when gulliver is present - if you stand still a moment some water will shoot up from the sand. Dig this up. When gulliver isn’t there this will yield manilla clams which u can craft with
- it becomes important to have a full town soon, whenever you see an islander that interests you I would recommend talking to them multiple times until they ask to move in

Great vid tho! I started playing at Christmas time so it’ll be interesting to watch throughout the year

Not sure if you’d like tips…. There is a way to get maximum materials out of rocks…you dig a few holes behind you prior to hitting the rock so you won’t experience that kickback and you can get a maximum of nine items out of a rock. It really helps with the money rock especially because the reward is higher when you get the maximum hits.

Forgive me for the multiple comments…. I tend to comment as I go along..lolz. I see someone told you about how to find Gulliver’s communicator parts. Yes, the museum is so incredibly beautiful. I’d like to visit a museum like that in real life. I also must admit, the cruel side of me loves scaring blathers with bugs. If you “show it off” while standing near him (and he’s awake), he will have a fearful animation that’s priceless. If I can figure out how to use my capture card, I may make a similar series; I hope you won’t mind if I borrow your idea. It’s definitely a good one. As mentioned before, I love seeing your reactions since you’re basically new at the game. Pashmina was my first sisterly villager as well. Keep playing, you’ll find plenty to do! It’ll suck you right in! Just wait til you have to build some housing plots for other villagers! I love your editing too, you’ve Mae this very entertaining to watch!

Oh yes. Finally, if you want to speed up the animation for crafting, just hit the A button while doing it… it will make the animation a lot faster.

You can use an axe to mine rocks then you d9nt need to worry about digging holes
