It might be a good time to replace the hoses, thermostat, and clamps as well. Perhaps even back flushing the system too.

Great video, I'll be replacing the thermostat on my Camry with this same engine. Good to know these are self bleeding systems like it is on those old Saturns and Ford Panthers (Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Marauder, Town Car)

You should mention to NEVER open the radiator cap unless the car has been sitting for atleast 10 minutes with the engine off. Safety first somebodys going to get burned

No need to remove the shield, there is a drain hole on at least some models.

Australian models: skid pan has a hole to accommodate just turning the petcock on and waiting. If you are like me, it also has another larger hole in front so you can unscrew it entirely.

I learned from a mechanic that he didn’t lift my 2000 Camry up. You can reach the drain from the top while the car is on the ground. The drain is below the driver side fan. I paid $50 to had my flushed out.

You guys do all the work on the 2.2L 4cyl but is this the same for the 3.0 6cyl? And is it safe to use the 50/50 mix with a red coolant?

How long do you run the car ? Do you turn on the heat inside right ? Does Toyota Camry 01 have a Bleed Valve .?

I have just bought a 01 2.2 camry. It blows cold in hot, overheats, top hose hot, bottom cold. Could a air pocket be the problem?

Didn't need to remove the skid plate. There's a hole in it, you can see the tap through it. My tap was white and plastic.

Used a short length of garden hose to siphon the overflow reservoir dry - yum!

Temp guage rose a smidgen when engine was first idling, then fell back to Cold again.

Bled it for 20mins with engine idling until bubbles stopped and coolant stayed to top of radiator cap.

Will have to get someone who knows what they're doing to sort out temp guage issue.

I have what looks like a High side rigid tube with an MS fitting, connected to the compressor, but reaches out in front of my radiator and isnt connected to anything.
Does the 97 camry have a reciever dryer?
Im not sure what my AC system is missing.

There are other drain points on these vehicles that no one seems to do aa good job of showing. The coolant is still pooled in the engine itself and not just in the radiator. It is so frustrating how few videos do the full job and just 2/3 of it

I have to ask you how often should coolant be changed. My late cousin gave me his father's Camry on May 23rd 2018. I haven't changed the coolant yet. I know it needs to be changed. All fluids need to be changed except oil I change it every 3000 miles. Unsure about transmission fluid. Please respond thanks for the video.
