How to Migrate plex to a new PC
The process is quite simple to do but its a bit time consuming.
Do you like me have a lower power computer for running Plex or want a more powerful computer to run it but don't want to loose all your progression? Then in this video I show you step by step how to do it.

Thank you so so much for this!!! I first moved 2 drives on an external dock and just plugged it into the new tower and named the drives the same as before and it found everything immediately!! Thank you for this again it was perfect and worked flawlessly!!!!❤

Great tutorial, easy to follow and worked flawlessly. Migrated from plex running on a VM on a v3 xeon chip, to a 12th i5 NUC and quicksync is soooo good. Plus scrolling thru my library is quicker too. Appreciate you brother 👍

This was way easier than I thought. I have all of my libraries on a internal HD on the Plex server. Set the data drive up on the new server and it looks i never changed the server at all, except now I have 2TB more of space free :) Thanks!

Great vídeo, man. Save-me a lot of time to understand what is pointing in Plex website. In my case, all my movies is on a external Drive. I just conect the drive on the new PC and change the directory letter via disk management to the same it was on the old one PC (drive J). Thanks a lot!

Great video, thank you. Noteworthy for the sake of saving copy time and space on the destination drive would be to omit the "cache" subfolder from the old system when copying the rest of the folder to the new computer.
Plus, there's a bit of cleanup to do in the library paths if they change on the destination drive, like editing existing librairies and adding the folder(s) from its/their new path(s) and then scanning it, which allows Plex to make the association between the new folder and the old media metadata than you just copied over. Of course these last steps can be dropped in your case there's no difference since both PCs point to the same Z:\ network drive, just as I do at home myself.

Thanks for the easy to follow video. Going to try this soon on a new computer Im setting up for Plex. Want to see what happens when I move over my data drives. I guess if they are registered as different letters I would have to assign the same letters from the old system to the respective drives?

Getting ready to migrate my server to a new PC. My Plex folder is huge. It looks like it’s mostly the cache folder. Can I delete the cache to make the data transfer quicker and easier? The whole folder or just the subfolders okay to delete? Thanks! This video was very helpful.
