focusrite 3rd gen don't work for my pro tools, it'll recognize it on my record track but won't on the master track. I don't get it. interface works fine on studio one and logic...

You pointed out that the Presonus has a second usb-c connector for power... the scarlett 2i2 has that too. Its labeled "5V DC" and you showed it into the camera... important if you want to use it standalone without a computer connection as i do.

The Presonus had a bit more low-mids than the Focusrite which could be interpreted as warmer. The high end of both sounded the same to me. Both are very workable sounds for laying down tracks.

3:44 for reference, the 2i2 4th gen also has an aux power usb c port. It just has a cover on it which I’m guessing you didn’t notice.

I bought the Quantum ES2 and it is cleaner than any interface I've used so far. The pre-amps are incredible and can drive even an SM7B without gaining it up to 100% or having to use a cloud lifter. The headphone jack powers my sennheisers and my planars and that is with out any amp necessary. I cannot even turn the volume past 2 on my headphones because it is just too loud and even though the clarity is phenomenal and I get no distortion it is still more volume than I can take if I turn them up. The only downside to the ES2 is the lack of RF shielding and it can cause pops, stutters, chop and buzz if used with some out board gear. For instance powered monitors and amps used near the ES2 will suffer for this lack of shielding. Hopefully Presonus will fix this over sight but it must be mentioned as a con because it is a big one. Other than that I'm happy with the ES2 but buyer beware the lack of proper RF shielding and the issues it causes.

The ES4 helped me level up to súper Saiyan. The auto gain was gamechanging for me personally.

This is exactly what I needed. I love my Scarlett, but I use Studio One as a DAW, and that ES2 has a ton more features. Great review!

I agree, the Presonus converters seem to capture more details in the transients and harmonics.
