About This Video Series:
In "Empowering Students as Independent Learners," we will explore formative instructional practices and strategies to activate student self-direction and engage students in supportive self-management. Learner independence is a necessary skill in the world we are preparing our students to enter in life after K-12 education. During this unprecedented time of school closures and virtual learning from home, our students have a need to build their independence and self-direction more than ever. This series will provide research-based ideas, resources, and models for teachers to support and empower students to own their own learning.
