Off Grid In The Tiny! Plug and Play Solar Energy

A month or two ago (time eludes me) I shared with you a sweet plug and play solar setup that makes going off grid pretty darn easy, especially if your energy needs are relatively low. The solution is called The Kodiak and is made by Inergy. The elevator pitch is that you can tack on as many batteries are you like to the setup with a maximum of 600 watts input at any given time. A setup like this is great for a tiny house with low or relatively low energy needs.

After running the house for the whole winter on the Kodiak, what do you think? Have you had a chance to experiment with the mini split ac?

I have a 30ft travel trailer that can use a system like that. Right now I have no clue of what to do about the trailers no heat situation. I am in a situation that the trailer needs work, but I need to find a better place to park it before I do the work it needs and then the limited income is also a problem. But that system would be great for this trailer.

Is the kodiak an MPPT controller? Are your panels linked in series?

What panels did you use? Would you recommend just using the ones from Inergy? Thanks!

when logging needs to be done, a person must understand the process of logging. I would not recommend the average person put up their solar system, build a house or any permanent structures until logging and tree falling is done. Of course I can't assess your situation by the video. Just thought a word of caution might possibly help prevent some costly headaches for someone down the road.

Are there any other competitors with 30 amp plugs?
