The historic city of Jeonju may be famous in Korea and beyond for its food and architecture, but it’s adding another feature to the list. City officials are using digital twin technology to simulate all kinds of potential improvements as well as offering virtual tours of Jeonju. It’s part of the government’s bigger New Deal picture and plans for the post-coronavirus economy. If nothing else, it’s a great excuse to visit Jeonju!

Once you have a base model of the city, you can come up with scenarios to see what happens when certain parameters (such as population and traffic flow) are changed.

Very interesting and informative, thank you. SK has prospered significantly over the years with innovation and forward thinking, so well done to their citizens. We will definitely be visiting when this damn virus is under control and we’re out of lockdown - roll on!

Beautiful city!! 😻 Usually it's the "smaller" cities that preserve much of its historic authenticity. Despite amazing possibilities, nothing can replace the experience of actual travel. Simulation is the second best. But I'm still 좀 부럽다. ㅎㅎ
1:22 😂😅 How it came to this lol It does count as one of "traditional activities". No longer practiced, thank God. ^ ^
Officials seem to have put the simulation to good and smart use. I like the idea. Thank you, Alex!

Whatever it is, but travelling to the place, in reality, is a whole different experience in itself. It can be very precisely replicated artificially, but it can't match the experience you get in reality.
However, these models are very useful when it comes to city planning and construction ecologically, in a way that it doesn't harm the environment.
