-------------------------------------------------------

Does Medicare cover dental? Medicare does not typically cover routine dental care such as dental exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, or dentures. Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) only covers dental services that are deemed medically necessary due to a health condition, such as a dental emergency or oral cancer. The best dental plans for seniors depends on what zip code you live in. The best dental insurance for seniors will depend on several factors, including your budget, the specific dental needs you have. Manhattan life dental and delta dental seem to be favored over Humana and united healthcare.

However, some Medicare Advantage plans (Part C) may offer dental coverage as an additional benefit. These plans are offered by private insurance companies that contract with Medicare to provide all of your Medicare Part A and Part B benefits. The dental coverage offered by Medicare Advantage plans can vary widely, so it's important to review the plan's benefits and costs before enrolling.

It's also important to note that Medicare does not cover routine vision or hearing care, but some Medicare Advantage plans may offer coverage for these services as well.

And it is a shame too because dental is very important to your health. Bacteria, etc. can get into the gums and affect your heart. Root canals can be at least $2, 000 including post and crown if not more. There are seniors who have two to three teeth that need root canals and some of those seniors are getting around $1, 400 a month from Social Security and that is their only income and they have little in savings. What do they do? Senator Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have wanted dental, vision and hearing aids to be included in Social Security for years now. How I wish it was. It is needed for one’s health. It is a shame that seniors need dental work, can not afford it and go years without treatment.

Is there such a thing as a good dental plan? I’ve never seen one . I worked for 50 plus years. I never seen or had a good Dental plan. They have a 1500 max with two free cleanings. The procedures cost twice or more than the insurance plan will pay.

Every dental plan I've ever seen isn't worth it, better of paying out of pocket.
