In this video, I will be showing you how to create your own rapid fire mod for the Xbox One S controller by programming an Arduino Pro Micro and soldering it to the xbox one controller.

This video is meant as an alternative to buying a mass produced rapid fire controller, or installation kit. These can be pricey but if you follow the instructions in this tutorial, you will be able to create your own re-programmable rapid fire mod for $4.

This tutorial requires some skill with a soldering iron and also a general understanding of the Arduino IDE, as both will be used in the video.

This method works for Xbox One Gen 1, 2, and 3 controllers.

Nice video! Short and to the point, nice pictures, and meaningful content. I've been looking all over to verify this. I mean, I knew it could be done, but seeing someone do it made me feel more comfortable about it. I'm a beginner at electronics.

great video, but if your having trouble with finding the soldering points for the right trigger those to you solder together are R39 and C36. On the Elite controller they are located under the yellow plastic on the right side of the ribbon ban connection. just look for the numbers and youll find them set up the same way, side by side

I expanded this mod to use rapid fire on the A/B/X/Y buttons. To do that you need to connect the digital outputs of the arduino to the base of a transistor, and use the transistor to make a path to ground from the relevant soldering point for the A/B/X/Y buttons

Thank you for this upload! Playing Sine Mora at the Moment and need Rapid Fire for thje first time in my 35+ active gamer years :)
Was thinking of modding my controller to use Rapid Fire on the A Button (for Sine Mora). But then realized: mod with RT and then just remap RT to A (or vice versa) and I am good to go!

Great video. Inspired me to give it a go on an old controller. But, how do you know which connection relates to which button? In order to add different mods to different buttons. Thanks

I have watched this video for at least 4 years now, more than a dozen times. I don't own an Xbox, but this video is strangely nostalgic to me.

I finally got this to work on a actual xbox one controller. Only issue I have is it takes power from the J connector which is only supplied with power by usb into the controller. With a rechargeable battery pack it does not light up at all. Any TP’s or other points to take power from that runs through the battery voltage? Other question, which part in the code do you modify to increase or decrease the rate of fire?

Thanks!

Thank you for your video, works very nice, I tried to add a fire rate 2 but failed, try many days only the first mod will work, any idea to make it happen?

Great video mate! I am trying to do my own program with arduino mega 2560 / Raspberry Pi 4 but I am stuck with wiring... I am just trying to do simple program where a do to watch values I get from L3... But all I get is sinusoidal plot where my values goes from 0 to 1023 and back... Do you have any idea where could be the problem? I have only 1 wire connected to my arduino Mega an it is in A0 to read values... Also I have 1697 version of Xbox one controller but I believe solder points for L3 are the same

Hey man. Awesome video! Just wanted to ask if you used a 3.3v or 5v arduino for this project. I feel like it's 3.3v since you're supplying 3.7v to the RAW input but just want to make sure. Thanks.

Incredible work, electrical engineering seems to be your nitch. Best of luck with your future endeavors. Just out of curiosity. How many controllers have you modded?

And if you already fucked up the trigger, the values of the capacitor and resistor are:
R39 = 100ohm
C36 = 500nF
You just need to solder the lower pin from the U10 to the resistor and the capacitor and then, both of them to the TP67.
Hope this help someone and sorry for my bad english :)
