This is how I found SZA. She was a tumblr girl and I literally thought she was one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. So cool to see how much shes grown in the industry

I feel like SZA is the manifestation of all of the souls of lonely girls who survived trauma and came out stronger in the other side.

I used to be a huge stoner last year and I listened to song everyday when I would smoke. I didn't realize until now how haunting this song is. Reminds me of how much i didn't like myself and how alone I felt. I still adore SZA, so glad she made this song. I can reflect on how far i've come as a person since last year. Thank you Solana.

I struggled with thoughts of suicide. This song speaks to me. Music can prolong life and put off the inevitable

I love the rawness in this video. The dirty socks, clothes, fucked up iphone and the symbolism of suicide. The little details that make the whole embodiment of the video and song seem so real, like i believe everything she's saying. Very relatable.

I'm so tired of people talking about "I miss old SZA" she is going to change, she's a human being. Expect progressiveness, she isnt gonna sound or be th he same forever.

The song that got me hooked on SZA. My favourite era of hers. Wish she made more haunting vibes like these.

This is a great video. SZA herself said that this song was about rejection from her parents. So she lays objects from her life on the cardigan on the ground, calmly, systematically. (Notice how the iPhone has been smashed, from rage maybe?) The ring shows her letting go from her relationships or even giving up on the idea of love entirely. For almost the whole video she is faceless - this is how repeated bullying especially from parents makes you feel - it shrinks you and makes you anonymous. While she walks to her suicide in the lake, she looks back (the first time we see her face) is it a look of second thoughts? The suicide note at the end of the video reads "gone fishin' <3" which sounds pretty tame for a suicide note. You could read it as sarcasm or just apathy.

Do you also feel angry at yourself for not listening to her music a whole lot earlier?

So many quotables in this song. It's just raw poetry.

This will forever be my favorite SZA song. This EP was dope AF. I like Kendrick version but this version is so much more mesmerizing

She's cleansing herself in the waters of Lake Minnatonka.

ONLY Prince fans will understand this !!!

I find it interesting because if you think about it, when people commit suicide by water they usually jump off a bridge to be killed by the impact or rocks. Or they slit their wrists and lay it in water (a tub filled).

In her case, she willingly drowned herself and didn't use any other means to make her back out at the last moment. She died by suffocation of self drowning and lack of air. She held her self down underwater without any physical restraint but with only her will power or lack of there of. Many others would have re-emerged because they couldn't help but to fight against suffocation.
She purified herself and peacefully crucified herself. She passed in a clean and pure way. She was meteorically crucified. Legs and arms spread except there was no need for nails restraints.
That's part of what I get out of it.
