I got bacterial meningitis at 38, it has crippled my mind, I've never been the same since. Depression and fatigue still persists along with anxiety and speech problems

Hello. I had Spinal Menigitis as a small boy (16 months old) in the early 60s (I am 61 now). I was expected to die and had my last rights given to me by a Priest and my parents bought a casket for me as well. I did survive but have had lingering brain issues ever since. I went to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota yearly as a boy as well. I am now being tested for Frontotemporal dementia (FTD). If my story can he helpful, I'd be happy to assist. Thank you!

I wish they would do some research in the USA. I’ve had long term effects of having meningitis as a child, people here act like they are unrelated symptoms, but I’m coming to realize that I have a lot in common with the research patients in the UK.

I thought I should mention that the questionares may get lost in email, I frequent hospitals quite a lot, and don't realize I get sent these things as I get a lot of emails.

Ohm.
I wanna cry.
It's not because I was "born" this way.

It happened!
Mom was right, I'm not the same!

please.
