Simone Biles Being The GOAT Forces New Olympic Rules

Simone Biles is already one of the all-time greats in women’s gymnastics but she continues to push herself to new heights. However, she’s not getting rewarded for it, score-wise. The five-time Olympic medalist is so dominant that the rules of elite gymnastics intentionally put her at a scoring disadvantage. In an effort to deter other gymnasts from trying skills they are not physically capable of doing, the International Gymnastics Federation watered down the value of a new element Simone Biles plans to do. It really shows she’s in a league of her own.

She knows this but she continues to do moves no woman has ever done. Going into the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, she’s been training new moves knowing very well they will be underscored. But she’s not doing it for the points, even being underscored, she is miles ahead of her competition. As her final year in elite competitive women’s gymnastics, Simone Biles is pushing herself because she can. She’s doing it for herself. Straight out of quarantine, Simone has wasted no time proving that she's still at the top of her game. The Olympic gymnast posted a video of herself debuting a new move: a triple-double dismount off of a balance beam.

We will be cheering her on, will you? Do you think Simone Biles is one of the greats? Do you think it’s unfair for her to be graded less? Let us know in the comments. For more videos like this one, subscribe to The Things Celebrity.

"One day down the road, I know I'm not going to be able to do it again... and I'm going to wish I could."

I got chills.

Let this woman go as high as she can go!!! Isn't that the point of the Olympics? The absolute ELITE.

If you're not able to do these skills without a high risk of injury, just don't do them. Your coach should be smart enough to say: "Sorry, the Biles is too dangerous. You're not ready". I mean I'd understand if Simone's skills were completely weird and uncalled for, like spinning on her head or doing a beam routine on top of the high bar. But no, her skills are the natural progression to the current ones. Did they think nobody ever was going to add an extra spin or twist to the ones they do now? Ridiculous.

Virtually EVERY skill in elite gymnastics is dangerous and/or life threatening, so their reasoning for undervaluing Simone Biles’ new skills is lame and pathetically transparent.

I'm deeply against changes rules for that purpose. If she is good, she should be credited! Period!!!!

if the move was dangerous they would ban it rather than letting it score less.

It is not Biles fault that the other gymnast can't do the same skills. Simone is who she is and should not be penalized for it.

This is ridiculous and doing the other athletes a disservice. They need to step their game up. Give this girl her points, if others don’t rise to her level they should keep practicing. She is the best A Goat amongst the women and men in my opinion. This girl is competing against herself she is the definition of an athlete.

Not scoring Simone fairly because she's so good is like adding 5 seconds onto Michael Phelps time because he's so much better then other swimmers. If FIG is " worried about the danger" of some skills, why do they in the COP reward a sheep leap or ring so high? The gymnasts are required in the BB routine to do a leap where they have to take their eyes off the beam. How dangerous is that? Yet everyone is required to do it.

Then ban these moves, don't leave them out there as legitimate then undervalue them because Biles has the skills to pull them off when no one else can or is willing to attempt. It's either "too dangerous" or not.

This is why she's messing up. If someone told me that increasing my skill would penalize me, I would quit entirely. No wonder she needs a break. I would quit the sport entirely after such a betrayal.

So sick of the International Gymnastics Federation and their discriminations against Simone, let her do her skills and grade them just and reward her fairly, that is what the sport is supposed to be about, not handicapping an athlete. Just because man is born without wings is no reason in hindering him in letting them

Men’s gymnastics: Gets praise for innovation
Women’s Gymnastics: Let’s limit innovation to “prevent injuries”

Doesn’t make sense

Just because she’s the GOAT doesn’t mean she should be penalized for taking her sport to the next level! Go, Simone! Love you & your performances!

I’m not understanding so they want her to “water down” her skill because other people cannot match her skill???? I thought they were supposed to encourage the athletes to want to do better???

So years ago, a gymnast astounded the judges with a perfect ten and advanced the sport. Now a gymnast astounds us all and is penalized. What B...S...!

She's an absolutely remarkable athlete.

Simone is being treated unfairly for her hard work and dedication to gymnastics. That is pitiful on the part of the governing body for gymnastics.

Imagine if in skateboarding when tony hawk did a 900 they were like yeah that’s too dangerous you can’t do that. What a ridiculous thing to do to a sport.

I mean, the higher you go in pole vault, the more dangerous it is. Doesn’t mean you should count higher jumps worse.

Don’t understand why you’d be punished for doing something better than anyone else lol
