The covert narcissist that became my caregiver told me when I first met her that she could make anyone dependent on her. I allowed her to nearly kill me (no exaggeration) before I went “no contact”. I new who she was but she is an in-law so I thought that didn’t apply to me. I went from partial disability to full disability under her “loving” care. After no longer eating her meals and taking her advice, I have made substantial improvements.

He seems like a narcissist himself. He almost always has a bullshit half smile on his face When he sugarcoats the deceptive tactics that the narcissist does, he doesn’t say they don’t do horrible things but he definitely softens the severity of the truth of their actions!

Yes, and...He says they fell in love with the SLD of the co-dependent.I knew well an NPD. He was in love with a projection. Yes, he absolutely wasn't loving a person.

I cut contact. Of course it hurts. I love her. But after what she has been doing to me for a long time, I decided to leave for good.

I fell in love with a construct. A person who was never there.

Yes, I fell for it. He saw my family had some of the same issues his family had, and knew i would be able to accept his BS, and i did for along time, but it got old, and he fell apart when i started giving tough love. Long story short, he ran into Rehab to avoid responsibility for several yrs and died soon after
